Xie Xingfang and Zhang Ning withdrew from this ABC, so Wang Chen and local fave Wong Mew Choo are WS top-two seed. China only brings two unseeded players Jiang Yanjiao and Wang Lin here.

It's very bad draw for INA youngster Andreas Adityawarman, meet LD at first round. And XD, possible quarterfinal clash Nova/Lilyana against Xie/Zhang.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but if Kenneth wins the EC, which he most certainly will, dosen't CJ need to win the ABC?

Few minutes after Asia Badminton sent the draws, there were reactions from fan all over the world : big names are missing the event, such as Taufik Hidayat, who has already secured his spot in the Olympics. But also, all top Chinese top ladies are staying home, after they also have all chances to keep the four top spots of the world ranking, no matter what happens in Johor Bahru. A good fate for some of the lesser ranked players from Asia, who will enjoy this pass from Xie, Zhang, Lu and Zhu to get the missing points.

wow WMC is seeded 2nd. but she need to be careful of wang lin and YPY.
julia vs sainal will be interesting.
LCW have quite good draw.WPT/LKW vs nova/liliyana in 1st round xd. hard ones for most mas xd. KKK/GLY have to play from qualifying.
mas WD draw is not so good. i wonder why there's only 4 seeds in WD.
anyway hope MAS will do well

The top players who have already secured the OG berth preferred to rest it out apparently, instead of risking serious injury which need months to recover, and risking missing out the OG. That would be a bigger bummer!

As to date CJ 60280 and KJ 58502 (-1778).

CJ's 10th lowest qualified point is 4800 and KJ's 5040. If KJ win the european with 7000, net gain 1960 thus total 60462.

If CJ get into the asian final, net gain = 5950-5040 = 610, thus total 61190.

For KJ to overtake CJ as World no 4,
KJ needed to win otherwise CJ stay at No 4 no matter what.
If KJ to win, CJ needed to get into the final or KJ will be no 4.

Interesting, KKK is in the mixed event too.... he should concentrate on his pet event instead, just my 2 cents.

And they will meet the AJC Woonkhewei/Tan Woon Kiong in the first round if they safely pass through the Qualifying Round tomorrow...
It might be the coach's decison to let KKK play in more matches as warming up ahead of TCUC final next month..

But LCW has to pass BCL to reach final, it will depend on the conditions each will be in. I don't remember exactly when was the last time one had beaten the other.

while i'm at it, lets do the XD as well.

as to date the world no 4 pair LF/MV got 68180 and No 5 XZ/ZY got 66760 (diff 1420). both 10th qualified point is 5040.

Winner and runner's up get 7000 and 5950 (diff 1050).
So, if both get into the final LF/MV stay at no 4. the only way for the chinese pair to overtake as no 4 is to win the ABC but not against the indonesian pair.

    cant wait!

Bao Bao beat LCW in 2007 China Open finals. MO Bao lost to KJ. Interestingly, Bao havent met LCw in the 4 SS this year.
CJ just 'met' LCW in 2008 AE Semis.
