One can argue that Badminton is less difficult than sports like Football, Soccer and etc. Badminton is more about cardio than muscle reliant like many other sports.
this is just completely random, and I know women are strong, but maybe the build of a man is just better for it? not saying that women are bad at badminton, because there are so many amazing players, just a random thought. sorry if i offended anybody
One can argue that, if one don't know anything about what it takes strength and explosivness-wise to be a highly ranked singlesplayer in badminton. I am pretty sure LD, Chen Log, LCW has more fast muscle-fibers and leg strength and core-strength compared to most tennis-players, swimmers, hockey-players, runners etc. http://badminton-coach.co.uk/4833/p...nton-to-increase-your-vertical-jumping-power/
The sad fact is that the top women shuttlers would most likely not reach 500-1000 on Mens ranking, and the best women are beaten even by junior male players. Women singles and tactics are progressing at a fast rate with more explosive and attacking gameplay, but men will always jump higher (better angles), smash harder and move much faster and be able to maintain balance better on court due to their superior physicque.
Yes, really. Women are free to enter all competitions. And can we fix the title, please? Men better at women?! I'm pretty sure women are better women than men.
title fixed. seriously, i agree with twobeer. with the exception of some rare outlying cases, in general women are not as physically built as men. and badminton isn't an easy sport that these physical differences don't matter. that's what nature gives us. there were previous cases that says if physical power is taken out, perhaps it is possible in some cases that woman can beat men. The case i remember was Gong Zhichao rumored to have beaten Ji Xinpeng sometime around their Olympics gold victory. but if you take today's top men players and top women players and have them play full strength, then there is no question the men will win. and of course, if you put me against just the regular 10,000th ranked women player in the world, i will for sure lose.
If you are matching speed for speed, power for power, there's no way females can match males. At lower levels when both are still training, yes. This is much more common in young kids where females develop faster and are better physically than males. But when the young males start developing, the females will find that both of them will start to level and eventually unable to match the males on these 2 factors. And even for adult badminton trainees that I observed, females also tend to start off better than males, but when both are equally skilled, the females will not be able to match the males.
