Too bad the young guns were defeated by the old lions this week. They both played well, but the old lions deserve to win more... ;)

    There's a reason..

..for why the pics load up almost like "forever" and very slow...That is, to test and see if those trying to see the pics are "true" supporters of Rian..:p:cool:;)..

Krisna.. It was yesterday: Nov 21st.
Btw, Yoke also had birthday yesterday (Congratz Yonathan!!!)

It's kinda funny/weird, cuz KKK/TBH share the same birthday too (Sep 18th)...

Really? Wow...what a coincidence and pairing. I think Yoke is one year younger than Rian right?

Now, on the more important stuff, draw in Russia Open GP:
R32: vs Evgenij Dremin/Alexej Vasiljev -- should be a good opening match
R16: vs Tsai Chia-Hsin/Hu Chung-Hsin -- the Chinese-Taipei pair upsetted Koo/Tan yesterday and it will be an interesting matchup
QF: (if they can fulfill their seeding) vs Anggun Nugroho/Tantowi Akhmad or Mike Beres/William Milroy (4) -- should be a manageable match and target will be a SF placing
SF: (yet again if all things went smooth) vs Shuichi Sakamoto/Shintaro Ikeda -- a matchup against the World Championships bronze-medallist and it will be a tough test.

I personally don't think Rian/Yoke can win the Russia Open given the tough competition from willy European (esp Logosz/Mateusiak and Boe/Mogensen) and Japanese pairs (Sakamoto/Ikeda).

Rian should just fight and do his best laaah... He he he... Even Cai Yun-Fu Haifeng and KKK-TBH can loose [like this week in China], let alone Logosz-Mateusiak and Boe-Morgensen... very beatable for Rian-Yoke.

Rian and Yoke lost to the Japanese pair in rubber sets yesterday. Oh well, a SF result is not too surprising and fair. The Japanese are good...

I agree. A fair result.....let's see if they can perform better in Rome next week. They should progress to the QF at least, with a Russian pair, the winner of the Russian Open this week awaiting in the QF and SF.

Rian-Yoke defeated the Russian Open champs, Hopp-Kindervater, yesterday night in a thrilling 20-22, 21-17, 21-19 win... :D They will face Boe-Morgensen in today's Italy Challenge MD finals... ;)

If they win today, then their world ranking can improve from 28 today to around 23 next week... :D We'll see...

More importantly, they have to focus on finding ways to win against difficult opponents like Boe-Morgensen... Next year Rian-Yoke can think about entering the top 10-15 where they have to defeat even tougher opponents... The 2 Japanese pairs [students of Park Joo Bong] are included as MD pairs to beat for them there...

I have written in the other thread that they will rise to around 23-24. A pretty good half a year for them since their debut.

Fully agree that they will now have to concentrate on being the best...which means beating top pairs consistently. It takes Kido/Hendra at least one and a half years (2005 and most of 2006) to be up there in the top 8. We'll see how Rian/Yoke fare. I think they have gathered some fans here in BC.
