Hi i need some help getting better at net kills and killing poor clears. Anyone have an ideas? I need a lot of help killing crappy drops. I saw someone on my team play, and he killed each drop so easily and effectively. He just jumped and w/ a slight tilt of his racket did a cross court smash. Thanks

I did, he was just like you just do. I was like:eek: Thats everyone's answer on my team to any question. "how did you get so fast"? "I just am" perhaps it was anticipation?

I would agree with CrazySmasher, that footwork and anticipation are very important. A lot of net kills go bad because people don't have the footwork to capitalize on mistakes-- they end up taking the bird too late and too low.

I'd add in that drills are necessary to get rid of hesitation, which is what I see mostly in beginning players... they may be fast, they may have enough footwork, they might have the perception to see the poor floating bird, but sometimes, due to lack of confidence in technique or whatever, they hesitate for a split second and that leaves the birds to fall in a harder to kill position.
