Agreed. And I found that other Korean players also execute this shot very nicely, Sim Yu Jin, Son Wan Ho or even Kim Ga Eun.

She indeed looks like a very ordinary, but the fact that she reaches consistently the later stages of the tournament should tell that she is not that ordinary. She is 20, and already an experienced and well known player in the circuit. Her speed around the court is amazing, on top of her ability to read and return the shots. I believe she is also working on improving her attack which will make her an even a more complete player and a serious candidate for the next Olympics top spot.

Her court coverall is very smooth, effortless but what bemused me is why she always gets cramps and out of gas towards the end of the 3rd game.

Well she does tend to play the long drawn out rallies. If she can improve her endurance and recovery, she will definitely threaten cyf moreso than she already does (although h2h is not favourable yet since she burns out)

So agile is court but still not able to win title as long as CYF, AK and TTY are still reigning queens.

She’s not in Denmark open…I think she had a cryptic instagram story couple weeks ago. Anyone know what’s going on?

She’s not in French Open as well.

Can @event give any further information?

From the news, it seems like she was banned till May 2023 ? She said she is ready to compete for Denmark open though.

Sorry, I was not notified of that tag. According to news released before Denmark, she had an ankle injury. I don't know whether I've linked to the same news piece to which returntobadmin referred above, but this article points out that she (obviously) hopes to be healthy and competing throughout the Olympic qualifying period, which begins in May 2023.

Does anybody knows who are her coaches? Lately I have seen different coaches with her at court side and i can only recognize Sung Ji-hyun, the former singles player. Thanks.

The new singles coach for the Korean team is Rony Agustinus. As An told Badzine last week, he is coaching both men's and women's singles.

The new coaching staff was announced in October. The new Head Coach is Kim Hak Kyoon. I don't know if he has been courtside yet with An.

Thank you very much for replying. I tried the KBA but did not find much, maybe looking at the wrong link. Thanks again.

There is a photo of An with all three coaches here. I don't know whether you need to be logged into Facebook to see it.
