the difference here is that IF - and I say IF - LCW wins, it's not like it's totally unexpected of him and it will be a great achievement but he more than deserves it. He has already achieved so much outside of the majors - which I consider to be WC, Olympics and lesser extent AE. He is already the top in terms of number of SS win, is World no. 1, conferred Dato, etc. This win If - and I say IF - it happens, won't be a life-changing or life defining moment for him.

As opposed to HH, who wasn't really considered much before his 2003 win, and likewise KKK/TBH when they won their AE. Those wins made them overnight stars back home, something perhaps they couldn't cope with. LCW is already a big star now no matter what today's outcome is - it's only a case of remaining a choking star or a champion star.

I just hope there will be no friction between LCW and LD fans. I know some can't help themselves and becoming overzealous can lead to ... you know what

Remember, Tan Aik Huang was a 1 All England title wonder who lost to Erland Kops the following year and never again was able to dominate men's singles. Aik Huang had one good year where he won the All England and many other tournaments. Hopefully, Lee Chong Wei will have a few good years left.

England time is GMT. So it should be 8 hours later, which means that the match start at 9pm?

1pm UK time which I think translates to a 9pm KL time.

it's good that the MD is more 'open' now. all the early favourites did not live up to their billings.

Kenichi Tago never won a SS tournament, but his mother, Emiko Ueno, won the All England WD title [and was also the World Champion if I'm not mistaken] in the 1970s... :D

I think LCW will win this time. Not Tago's time yet. LCW deserves this crown!!! :)

LCW will win if going to the book. But this may be his swan song coz its not easy for an asian to last that long. A good Tiger year for him since he doesn't have to play the chinese. Things could have been very different. Fung Shui is good for him so far. ;)
