Somebody had mentioned LYB set a target of 2 titles. One is in the bag so it's up to WYH or ZN/ZYL to pick up the other. I'd be surprised if it's the latter. WYH v TR is a 50/50 proposition. Both have shown resilience and incredible mental strength.

    (Oooooooo... 12K, hehe)

A Tine victory would be a popular one but I should say a WYH win would also be greeted with much joy. Both players have their own appeals and fan bases. Either would be fine for me as I like them both.

Ditto with LCW and Tago. But it would be nice to see LCW pick up a major and shake off the choker tag. If Tago wins, it would be an incredible underdog achievement; I think most people would also be happy with that.

No, of course not. He was in the junior ranks only a couple of years ago. I think he made a breakthrough with a few big name scalps last year and has continued to develop (very quickly, may I add) this year. JPN has a new hero to hang their hat on. :)

Here's my "Cloudy with a Chance of Bolehians Partying On The Street" prediction..

...here we are..history on the line...no chokers allowed...do or die...

WS - I am picking the ever, fierce yet graceful Wang Yihan to defend her crown..
WD - I am picking the two ladies you don't want to whistle at in a local baddy club, Du Jing & Yu Yang..
XD - I am picking the almost-separated-but-can't-go-yet pairing of Nova Widianto & Liliyana Natsir..
MD - Of course I have to be loyal or else Mr. Rasmussen will come looking for me....so, gotta go with JR & LP

    and last but not least..

MS - Yes, he is on the cusp of achieving and bringing glory back to the Boleh Land.......ladies and gentlemen, your AE 100th Anniversary MS champion....Datuk Lee Chong Wei!!..

    XD FINAL
Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei vs Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir [2] - will Nova/Butet end a nation's long wait for another AE title in XD? I hope so and will be praying that the "good" Nova shows up!

    WS FINAL
Wang Yihan [1] vs Tine Rasmussen - a repeat of last year's Final and my vote goes to Tine.

    MS FINAL
    Lee Chong Wei
[1] vs Kenichi Tago - who would have expected Tago to reach the Final? I don't  But he certainly made the World noticed him (esp Lee Yong Bo), after defeating 3 top 10 players in the space of 4 days! Lee Chong Wei will need to be careful and play his normal game. Cue wild celebration if LCW win this for MAS.

    WD FINAL
    Du Jing/Yu Yang
    [1] vs Cheng Shu/Zhao Yunlei [3]

    MD FINAL
    Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen
vs Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen [4] - both pairs have excelled this week, resulting in an all-DEN Final in MD. I hope Paaske/Rasmussen can end their career with a Major Title!

The last Japanese to appear in an AE final was Masao Akiyama in 1966. He lost to Tan Aik Huang of Malaysia.

    Good omen for LCW?

no one has yet put their support behind boe/mogensen..... gamesmanship probably doesn't inspire the same sort of loyal following...

i have to ask: is there any particular reason behind the nickname of "butet" for Liliyana Natsir? i'm still new :D

It would be great if Indonesia won it.

    WS
Wang Yihan [1] vs Tine Rasmussen
Wang Yihan is not too consistent this year, but I think she could pull the rug from Tine.

    MS
    Lee Chong Wei [1]
    vs Kenichi Tago
I really, really hope that Lee Chong Wei can win this. I'm sorry, Kenichi...but he's still young. He got plenty of chances. LCW's are very limited. 56-44 chance, in favour of LCW.

    WD
    Du Jing/Yu Yang [1] vs Cheng Shu/Zhao Yunlei [3]
    Nothing to say.

    MD
Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen vs Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen [4]
Great, an all-Denmark final. Boe/Mogensen should go for the win, after upsetting Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng
