WZM's immediate reaction after winning the final point was so mild, subdued, no ripping off his shirt, throwing shoes and racquet into the crowd, and running around the arena. :D

You're absolutely right, I still cannot believe he did it when all seemed lost. Hope this 'new' Wang Zhengming is here to stay.:)

Agree. I can see he didn't lose his confidence even he was almost behind the whole time in the deciding game.

All I can say is that I pity the fans of Wang Zhengming, who must be on the verge of having heart attacks whenever they see him play matches like this!

Liu Xin is another big surprise to me. My image of her stopped at the BAC 2010 final where she lost to the equally young LXR. I underestimated her this time, should have refreshed and updated my data of her first before commenting in future. But she played in so few tournaments the past 2-3 years and was often eliminated in the early rounds that I hardly ever get to see her play, so have no idea of the change in her.

She herself said the last 8 months break from tournaments during which she concentrated on training hard has paid dividends; she is more confident of herself now.

Will LX and LXR be taking part in the JO? IMO it is best that they just go there for "name sake" and go for an " outing" after quickly loosing their first round matches. Surely this will not be construed as poor sportsmanship or bad for badminton by some if not all the China bashers .
Seriously, they should take it easy for the next one month in order not to risk injury.

Well said, he lifted my hopes and dashed it so many times that my heart has become frail and somewhat hardened. Though he gives me a pleasant surprise this time, I'd better continue to play safe and be cautiously optimistic of his future performances.

You know, in the past, it used to be WSX who often gave me heart attacks but no more; luckily, I outlived that. To be honest, I'm not an ardent fan of WZM yet, bless me.:D

My goodness, if Liu Xin is slated to take part next week in the JO, someone with better sense had better ensure that she pulls out. She looked like she soon had to be carted off to the hospital in the latter stages of the match with Porntip.

Well said, the same goes for LXR who ,unfortunately, is slated to play Sindhu in the QF of the JO SS,very bad timing. I read that even Saina, who didn't play here, is skipping the JO SS in order to concentrate on the European circuit in October.

Another unexpected result, for me, that Zhang/Zhao won the XD title and in two sets with clear margins.

With Yoo Yeon Seong as the new partner for LYD, is he going to continue playing XD? LYD's former partner, JJS, played only MD with LYD.

Congratulations for all the winners! And thank you for all the finalists.

Congratulations to WZM and LX for their maiden SS title. Both MS and WS final matches were pretty exciting!
