The grommets in P2 are not standard right? So how do we replace them? Also, how is the shaft thickness compared to spieler A09.1?
Jup, the P2 has those weird EGG grommets which would be a no-go for me. Not sure if they offer those as replacements by now (@speCulatius?) but if not, I wouldn't go for it. Thing is that you just cannot replace it with standard grommets which at least would be possible with the grommet strips on other rackets.
Weird egg grommets? I'll have to go back through old posts to look for those. Mine just has strips which inwouldnt worry abput replacing. Either they last, or i can use other strips or I'll try standard grommets next time. Shaft thickness seems the same visually, id have to look them up to see if they are or not. P2 is a step stiffer for me but not harsh amd power is still easily accessible. Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk
Yeah. From specs, it looks like it cannot be replaced with normal grommets. Patented technology it seems. Please check your P2 and post some photos if possible..
Check this Post https://www.badmintoncentral.com/fo...adidas-wucht-p8-3u.183311/page-2#post-2765230 You can replace all grommets but lose a little weight. Iirc He also mentioned somewhere that adidas dealer will be able to order replacement parts.
Don’t mix up the strips on the P8 and those oval thingies on the P2. The P8 has regular round holes all around the racket which can hold regular grommets. The holes on the P2 at 3/9 o’clock are oval, so I doubt the it can hold regular grommets. So it will be a serious question if Adidas offers those as place placements as well in the meantime.
I think the egg grommets are the strips that @DuckFeet is talking about but they aren't able to be replaced with standard grommets. I would hope that adidas offer replacements for the egg grommet strips
I just checked the pre release p2 that I have, they have standard grommets in those locations rather than the egg grommet strips
I added F2 to my collection. Looks good. But I honestly like the Spieler A09.1 design better. Factory strings. Tension seems to be around 22. Looks ok for a few days. I dont know which strings (There is some writing, but not legible. 0.68 gauge, i think). The stencil work is horrible. very thick. It is head heavy and medium stiff (there is flex, not too much). The cover is a bit of an overkill. Glossy and very very heavy. The spacing between the strings is high towards the edge and normal in the sweet spot area.
Its a good racket, those aren't the factory strings so must have been strung by the store. I hope you enjoy it. The Uber range feel more refined than the spielers to me but both are good value for money
I have to check again, but I remember all Wuchts having a 6.8 mm shaft. The thinner it is, the harder it is to get a stiff shaft. There's always a trade off. Your racket and/or string shop should be able to source the oval grommets (P1, P2, P3) from Adidas. The P5 doesn't have the oval grommets anyway, but I cannot tell anything about that racket. About the rest... I second this.
Both are great rackets but the A3 is marginally better in my opinion. I couldn't create as much power with the A5.
