All Malaysians lost apart from lucky Chan/Chew.

They have done a great job in letting everyone down.

Just returned from a packed stadium :

Astro will show final live on Sunday.

mens Singles, Sony bt Hafiz, Shon bt Ronald, Taufik made a mockery of Ng Wei's textbk badminton, all Kore(never noticed)

Ladies Singles : Wang Chen (never realised how strong and powerful she is) bt Chen Lan Ting(nt impressive at all),
Yonkure bt Wong Mew Choo ( was watching Gu Jia Ming all the time, she still looks like she was in 1988, always smiling), diidnt notice 2 others.

Men's doubles, Chandra /Halim bt Choong /Lee, Flandy/eng Hian won, left stadium after that.

Hightlight of tour was when I suddenly became surrounded by the China team in the stands with Chen Jing,Chen Yu, Wei Yi Li, Zhao Ting Ting taking videos.

Sorry for disjointed news, I wasnt really following matches 100 %.

    Taufik vs Sonny

The last 2 previous asian games MS final was between Sonny and Taufik, right? and Sonny took both titles.

Wow, if they made it again to the final, I hope Sonny's making a hatrick this year :)

    Asian Champion!!!

    Chandra/Halim or Sigit/Trikus

Chandra/Halim and Sigit/Trikus both are fighting to be qualified for the olympics. Latest IBF ranking released yesterday is in favour of Sigit/Trikus at 11 while Chandra/Halim at 14. To be on the safe side, both couple must win the ABC.

It's going to be a tough fight. Especially Chandra/Halim that have to fight the biggest challenge of the couple they have never beaten yet--Flandy/Eng. Flandy/Eng never gave them an easy point despite their safe position and their compatriots need of points.

Sigit/Trikus have higher chance to reach the final with Chan/Chew in the semi.

Impossible ! Taufik and Sony qualify for the final three times consecutively. But maybe the Chinese weren't out there to stop them during this three times.

By the way, wad time does the tournament starts and is there any tv coverage tomolo ?

    MD Semi Result

    Chandra/Halim beat Flandy/Eng 15-7, 15-11

If Trikus/Sigit win, they will play against Chandra/Halim in the final to determine who'll go to the Olympics ... interesting
If Trikus/Sigit can't make it to final, it seems like Chandra/Halim will go to Olympics.

Is it true that the Indonesian Official could over rule who'll go to Olympics if they have 4 doubles pairs qualified?

It's really disappointing. Imagine ...even playing in their own home ground, they have failed to deliver the best. Not only in athens, I also don't think they can produce outstanding result in jakarta. By looking at Chan - Chew's performance, the duo will have no where to go by playing at this kind of standard. They seem to have lost something out there when they were playing. They can't kill the shuttle with their poor and unpowerful smashes. As for Choong - Lee, they do have the chance, but they are inconsistent.. Malaysia is really in a deep trouble... :(

    Tense MD final!!!!

The winner will go to the Olympics, the loser will stay at home...
(unless PBSI decided to overrule the world ranking)

This match will really be extremely tense and ... extremely interesting indeed!!! :D

Imagine it finishing at 17-16 in the decider!!

    Don't give up

The key is to get as many player as possible to qualify for Olympic. In MS department, if Malaysia can maximize to 3 players then there's l;sways a chance to bring in the gold(yes, aim high, not just any color but gold). I still have faith on Choon Hann, Roslin and Choong Wei(if he can qualify), they may not be as strong as the Chinese players individualy but each of them is capable of helping one another in pathing the road to the final. As for the MD, I think Lee/Choong still is very capable to win any tournament and lets hope they can surge/peak in Olympic.
Is Wong Miew Choo qualify for Olympic? She's a real fighter with great future hope for Malaysia and how about the WD under tutoring of Cheah Soon Kit, thumbs up Cheah, what a well done job.
    Malaysia boleh!!
