Hi all, I just got an MP99 with NBG95 @ 26lbs. It was great for the first two weeks and now it feels like the tension has gone down quite abit. I agree lots with the post above that said that lower tensions suit those who use more swing to generate power than those that play with their wrist. Sad to find that out now after playing for so long So i am left with a dilemma, my racket was strung at 26lbs *which was suficient for my wrist play* but now that the tension has dropped its a 'neither here nor there' tension. I spent a while getting use to it *in retrospect i realize that i have resorted to using full strokes rather than more wrist work*. Accuracy has dropped like mad, net shots are off, ya'll know the routine. Very frustrating. Any advice? My personal conclusions so far are higher tensions = play better, lower tensions = harder to control *which seems to be opposite to the trend that i've read, anyone like me? any pointers?*
Yeah, I feel that too. If I was not mistaken, I used my friends AT700 which was strung at 27lbs on a bg66. I could clear forehands just by wrist work too. Back on mine which was strung at 23lbs, I need a full stroke to clear the shuttle. Any idea? About the accuracy, I don't know. I just know that at low tensions, the string vibrates like mad when I smash.
Um just wanna ask, which MP got the highest reconmmendation tension? And which is better, high tension around 23 and above or low tension around 22 and below?
how if Armortec 700. how many tension would I use ? I want to use BG66. as you know I am not proffesional. but Iam intermediate player. please any advice would be appriciated. GOD bless all of you.
I am an intermediate player as well. I currently use prototype strings( 0.66mm which is the same as bg66's gauge). I strung my armortec700 with that string at 26*28.5, no problems so far. It's worked out great.
hi, i'm new here. I want to ask about tension. I am a beginner player, and i have Armortec 250. What string tension are good for my Armortec250 if i'm using NBG95 or BG66 ??? I want a powerfull string, and excellent string, but its safe for my racquets. thx!
thx for your response! ok, i will try 23lbs next time. btw, what is your string reccomendation for me?? i just a kid ( mybe teenager), grade 10 , and low power. so, what's your reccomendation? and I want the tension that i cant push my string with my thumb. ( it means, high tension) Is it 23 lbs? I guess if i use 23lbs, i still can push the string. (sorry for my bad english.)
You can try NBG98, BG66, BG85, or BG80 they are all great strings, any one would do. I don't think there's a such tension of what you mentioned, because if it can't flex the string bed with your thumb, how do you expect to play with it? In conclusion, I think 23lbs would be good enough.
What tension should i use for a 15 year-old boy? high intermediate.plays around 5 days a week.. using a at700
If we can go higher, is higher always better? I've only played 22lbs on BG-85, I can play all the shots without much effort, should I keep trying higher till I hit my limit?
If you are able to flex the string then higher tension will give you more power. If you cannot then lower tension will give you more power.
for me...I string my head-heavy racquets like armortecs at 21,22lbs or so...with even balance racquets like MPs I go around 23,24lbs..and for headlight racquets like Ti-10 I usually go 25,26lbs...I also base the string tension on the flexibility of the shaft...if its a stiff shaft...i usually go with a lower tension...having an AS-10 or NS9000X at a high tension requires a high level of control...so yeah...that's just my two cents...
