    I didn't use the word "athleticism" once. Your entire lengthy post is based on a strawman, so please forgive me if I don't reply to something you just assume and I didn't actually write.

    Athlete = Sportler, Sportlerin.

    Used to be WTM who now coaches NKL who has just won the German Open. WTM must be quite good.
    @Cheung , what do you think?

    I haven’t seen them work together. Good results are always good for the coach. He’s fulfilling his contract.:)

    He used to be charge of Scotland badminton and Kirsty Gilmour did quite well that time

    just to chime in... and both of them were very entertaining to watch too! There is tht added flair to their games which I don't find in the current batch of MS

    Just seen the German Open Official Youtube courtside and slow-mo vids - what a fantastic showcase of badminton. Maybe BWF can hire Tobias & co for other tournaments. The stock TV angle was also perfect like at the India Open. All England camera angle is a travesty - I have to zoom in by 40%.

    I'm not arguing against anything, so it's not a strawman. I provided my perspective and asked for the thoughts behind your statement. Speaking of, what does make you say that? Even if the statement isn't limited to athleticism/physical prowess alone (even though that's usually what somebody means when calling someone an athlete...hence my comment), I'm still curious what the thought behind your statement is. And what exactly you're referring to, since apparently it's not athleticism....
    Especially since it's the complete opposite of what's going on at lower levels.

    I can also assure you that there's no need for translations.
