In that case, getting an analgesic spray won't help, it may give him a false sense of security to carry on, and end up exacerbating his injury.

Wise decision to retire, partly thanks to the umpire not allowing the spray and giving him an ultimatum to play or retire the match.

A tentative start by LKY, unlike how he played VA last week.

Slower shuttles here. Suits VA well. VA can find the baseline and Loh has a much harder time getting through VA’s defence. And VA is not playing the tight net to keep Loh from it.

We also see all Indonesian MDs out. same reason. This does not suit their playstyle.
Average match duration is quite long.

hahaha nice win by VA to establish utter dominance over other players once again....you may pass him once or twice (only LKY) but never again. that is VA for you :)
my bet is that he will be the absolute GOAT by 2026. revenge over annoying player.

LKY, too error-prone, the speed is there but not the touch this time.

I mean, whether the shuttle speed is slower or faster, they have to be within the approved requirements as stipulated in the Laws of Badminton , any pros should be able to adjust to it quickly enough.

Yes. Same as all tennis players should be able to adjust from grass to clay to hardcourt. But.. players are different, playstyles are different and thus player preferences are different. That’s just the way it is, whether we like it or not.

All shuttle makers have multiple shuttle speeds to choose from. They all meet the speed requirements under some but not all circumstances (temperature, humidity). Circumstances can change during the day, yet the referee very rarely changes the shuttle during the day.

Robin Tabeling and Selena Piek of the Netherlands have reached the semi-final of a 750 tournament, which I think is the best they've ever done in a tournament of this grade.

    :):):)

They play a very traditional mixed doubles where the lady stays at the net as much as possible. They can get in trouble when Piek is targeted in her defence since it is definitely a great weakness. However, she is very aggressive and capable at the net, and Tabeling is fit, fast, and strong from the back court. If they can force their attacking badminton, they can dominate their opponents.
