I wonder how much Matthew Fogarty pay to get qualified for WC after all these years... He has win a match since 2018 (1WO and 1 withdrawal).
Well, a big upset strikes MS opening round if we looking at the disparity of world ranking between Nishimoto and bronze medalist in World Championships last two editions plus 7-1 head to head stats favour to the Dane. But Antonsen is just coming back from injury and still rusty in some aspects, home player capitalises this situation cleverly, thrilling moment approached in end of second game when the Japanese almost blew away 5 match points. Looks like Nishimoto has good prospect to ride further into quarterfinal, facing either Naraoka or Vitidsarn in last sixteen.
i have been using this app more to follow the scores https://bwfbadminton.com/news-single/2021/09/23/bwf-launches-new-badminton4u-app
hmmm so svetlana 64 years old .....that's old.....so did the opponents smash her or just dropshot? coz i wouldn't know what to do if i play against someone that old.....girl that old i mean.... i mean the last time i played against a girl that old i lost eh....kinda mixed feeling in the head.....
Well. I just dunno why Antonsen defeat is a major upset considering that Nishimoto has been playing well It is his home soil. Antonsen is more well known for his blogging The current rank is not even a clear reflection of the abilities of the players.
Glad to see that when it felt like Kento was about to let Munoz into the match in 2nd game he really pulled away after a while. With his current form I was worried that he was about to drop it.
Wow...I don't know. I mean, in terms of skill and technical abilities, once learned, they are not easily forgotten. They stay with athletes for life. Of course physicality is another thing, so strength, agility and explosiveness all decline as people get older. Anyways, it's the World Championships, and similar to the Olympics, I'm sure these athletes would feel great honor and be proud to represent their nation at a special event. Not many can say that they've done so. So when the opportunity arises, they're going to take it. I think it's commendable to participate and be a part of such events, even if these players are not as strong as their opponents. To them, the experience will matter more to them in the long run. EDIT: and it's a plus if they win, even if they're older, because they may be more experienced on the world stage, or know how to dissect their opponents on the courts.
whatever....i'll just try to find watch their recording matches on this saturday then....dang full schedule during WC ewwww today they vs Tkm lpj so doubt they can go any further
I would take a place in the World Championships even with 100% successful outcome of losing. Once in a lifetime chance!
Me ??? too! And I wish I can meet Viktor. If I can take 2-3 points by luck ("net court" or "clear shot" that was out by Viktor), I will speak this thing in some years. (I just play net shot and wait for my luck). If It was a wonderful day that I can take 5 points, I will speak this thing in 10 years. And if I'm SO SO lucky ......... to lose to Viktor by 21-0 and 21-0. I will be silent, people will talk about me in 10 years ^-^
Why do Chinese MS WS. Get to play at WC but not MD ? I would love to see how far Liang/wang can get being so young and extremely talented. They remind me of fikri / bagas .
Soniia can still play quite good despite being out of the national team and not playing in any major tournaments for a while, not to mention age being against her too. I actually thought she retired after the Olympics,I was surprised to see her still playing. But I don't expect her to go much further due to the above factors,if she did,it would be a real comeback story. Sent from my SM-A307GN using Tapatalk
One Commonwealth games singles player now gone. Will be interesting to see how far the others such as Sen, Loh, Srikanth can progress.
