Anyone else watching on BT Sport and think the commentary during ENG-JAP is not very good? Where are the likes of Gill & Steen etc?
THOMAS CUP quarterfinalists, intriguing ties to determine winner & runner-up group will be served tomorrow. Group A : INA, KOR Group B : DEN, CHN Group C : TPE, IND Group D : JPN, MAS One of strong contenders Denmark proves too strong for FRA rising team, all victories completed in two straight-games, longest duration (55 minutes) played by third singles Gemke who beat Merkle. On paper script, it seems an uphill task for badminton giant China to topple the Danes particularly singles department, perhaps Weng HY could spring upset as both Axelsen & Antonsen have solid performance so far. Japan was forced to work harder by England squad, losing two games through scratch pair Hoki/Watanabe and second singles Tsuneyama who surprised in opening game facing English national champion Johnnie Torjussen. It'll be tight contest against Malaysia especially the opening match between Momota v Lee ZJ, the former still trying to rediscover his old form while Lee seems in good shape so far. India may stun higher-ranked TPE team looking at their unconvincing performance against German yesterday, almost all matches concluded in three games except Lee/Wang, certain point for India nothing but MS3. Meanwhile the well-balanced INA is favoured to subdue KOR unless their doubles did blunder severely.
Woh, TPE Sung Shuo Yun is getting everything back a la Akane Yamaguchi ! Probably, HBJ didn't see it coming, not only her, even I am nonplussed!
Remarkably, ,He BJ fighting with grim determination and unremitting tenacity to force the decider ! Wonder how much gas she has left in the tank for G3.
Mindblowing, the kind of shots SSY is getting back...., playing inspiring badminton way above herself.
Amazing performance from Christophersen in the first game. But Chochuwong came back and totally dominated from game 2 onwards.
What a thrilling, spectacular, long and grueling match, the best I've seen so far for WS during the entire pandemic until now ! Sung Shuo Yun came so close to scoring a jaw-dropping scintillating win and He Bingjiao fighting tooth and nail like a ferocious tigress to save herself by the skin of her teeth. Can't get any better than that. It speaks volumes of the two contestants' phenomenal fighting spirit , doing justice for the victor and vanquished alike.
INA Uber is content to be runner up in the group by giving Prasista, the WS3 a chance to face Akane Yamaguchi.
