What a performance by both pairs and it's great to see Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti winning their first World Tour title (and 2nd title as a pair, after their victory at the SEA Games). Congratulations to them!
The INA WD pair will be hoping to reach Top 10 Ranking by end of this year. It has been nothing short of a fantastic 4 tourney debut so far:
SEA Games 2022 - Individual Event Gold (beating the top 2 seeds - Rawinda Prajongjai/Jongkolphan Kititharakul & the Aimsaard sisters Benyapa and Numthakarn)
Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2022 (Super 500) - RUNNER-UP (beating the second-seed Lee So Hee/Shin Seung Chan and the sixth seed Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan, losing to the top-seed and reigning World Champion Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan in the Final)
East Ventures Indonesia Open 2022 (Super 1000) - QUARTER-FINAL (beating the fifth-seed Mayu Matsumoto/Wakana Nagahara and Zheng Yu/Zhang Shuxian, before losing to the second-seed Lee So Hee/Shin Seung Chan in the QF)
Petronas Malaysia Open 2022 (Super 750) - WINNER (beating 2 seeded pairs Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida and Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan en-route to the SF; followed by Jeong Na Eun/Kim Hye Jeong and Zheng Yu/Zhang Shuxian again in the SF and Final)
The grind for more ranking points continue at the Perodua Malaysia Masters 2022 (Super 500) next week. Depending on withdrawals of pairs, they could face:
R32 vs Supissara Paewsampran/Puttita Supajirakul
R16 vs Baek Ha Na/Lee Yu Lim or Gabriela Stoeva/Stefani Stoeva [8]
QF vs Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota [4] or Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan
Followed by the Singapore Open 2022 (Super 500) in the following week:
R32 vs Jin Yujia/Crystal Wong Jia Ying
R16 vs Linda Efler/Isabel Lohau [7]
QF vs Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan [1]
And then the Yonex Chinese-Taipei Open (Super 300) to conclude the 4 tourneys tour:
R32 vs Q3 (a local pair)
R16 vs Cheng Yu-Pei/Sun Wen-Pei or Francesca Corbett/Allison Lee
QF vs Chang Ching-Hui/Yang Ching-Tun [3]
SF vs Yeung Nga Ting/Yeung Pui Lam [2] or Ng Tsz Yau/Tsang Hiu Yan [6] or Meilysa Trias Puspita Sari/Rachel Allessya Rose
F vs Anna Ching Yik Cheong/Teoh Mei Xing [1] or Febriyana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi [4] or Febby Valencia Dwijayanti Gani/Ribka Sugiarto or Sayaka Hobara/Hinata Suzuki [7]
I will expect at least 2 QF placings and another title in the next three tourneys for them. With those points, they will rise up to the Top 35 Ranking before the Japan Open 2022 and the European tour in the Autumn months.
