Or just better sturdier carpet material (instead of the thin felt) surrounding the green mat areas on the sides and the back. Especially dangerous for fast MD players who sometimes jump and land beyond the green mat.

It was painful to watch Watanabe slip and fall when they were up 18-15 in G3. That very likely caused them to lose the match at 20-22. I remember also painfully watching in slow motion Yoo YeonSeong land and slip out the back at 19 all in a tight G3 against Ahsan/Setiawan in SS Finals. He landed awkwardly on his playing shoulder and managed to return the next shot but never won anymore points after that.

To me, Ahsan just looks lazy. He has many chances to smash and just do dropshot etc and simple errors..

He dips faster its probably if Hendra had young partner, he d probably still do as well.

ahsan has become "lazy" ever since he got that back & hip injury, it's been that way since 2015. that's why you see hendra taking more responsibility from the back since then. i still remember their match against lee/yoo in bac 2015 where ahsan seems like he played some exhibition match, yet it ended up being one of the best match i've seen.

Yeah that is fine. I dont think he is lazy in 2019 when they reach many SS finals.

its just its obvious that after pandemic, he got much more lazier. But in a way its simply unbelievable that it took the help of the home crowd and tight 2 pointer to beat them, a 36 years old avg age,, and even that lucky net chord at 15 or so.

Ginting stole one game but no happy ending, the very consistent and fully confident Dane becomes nearly unbeatable now. Ginting sparked good promising sign to move faster and aggressive that integrating delicate net shot to trouble the Olympic Champion. Next episode of this match is quite predictable as Axelsen made stronger comeback that powered by precisive smash and exposing his opponent weak link to direct the shuttlecock into back hand corner frequently. The less error Dane in cruise control at final game to secure semifinal berth and will take on Asian Games gold medalist Jonatan Christie. Kento Momota only needs 13 minutes to progress following Rhustavito retired due to right calf muscles injury at 13-6 position. The Japanese only played one full match so far, he also got first round bye as Wangcharoen gave walkover, Momota finds Thailand challenger Vitidsarn who vanquishes Lu GZ in three games. Perhaps, badminton fans could expect Axelsen-Momota final clash here.

Tai TY mission to chase 5th MAS Open title keep exist, dropped first game to Sindhu who performed excellent to take initiative firstly and didn't deliver many chance and time for Tai to think further to orchestrate her marvelous repertoire. This atmosphere changed quickly in second game where Dr.Tai begins to construct arduous situation for her tall rival, demonstrating her expertise at net area as she led comfortably until Sindhu created brief comeback but it wasn't enough. Looks like Tai TY was more productive to play her game at near side of camera to release his deceptive shots and reduced errors. Chen YF pocketed another victory against Okuhara but this time with laborious effort, the Japanese applied right tactic, being offensive at initial game and almost worked well in second game if she didn't produce some basic mistakes at critical points that reignited Chen enthusiasm. Top-half semifinal will pit former champion Intanon against China next generation star Wang ZY who had tough times to read and overcome the much improved Kjaersfeldt.

Big challenge awaits home pairs Goh SF/Izzuddin and Aaron Chia/Soh WY to proceed into last round, the former only won once of six meetings facing the on-fire Alfian/Ardianto while Tokyo bronze medalists almost succumbed to pressure, won narrowly over the Daddies last night and must ready for another high intensity match against World Champions Hoki/Kobayashi.

What a tremendous leap by Rahayu/Ramadhanti to beat top pairs in their beginning of partnerships, Chen/Jia looked stagnant and uncreative to develop more variation attacking shots or placement. Healthy competition in women's doubles semifinal to have four different representatives.

The incredibles Zheng/Huang never drop a game along this tournament including how they quell the valiant French duo Gicquel/Delrue solid resistance yesterday and Christiansen/Boje might deliver fierce battle and make the Chinese a run for their money. Bass/Popor back to their groove and meet worthy opponents Wang YL/Huang DP, an intriguing encounter that offering equal chance for both pair to snatch final ticket.

Nice comeback from Rahayu & partner, it saved me about 30 minutes of waiting time before I can watch the TTY-CYF match

RahayuSiti is so much better than GreysAp. It seems like she can do what she wants without the need to cover for Greysia anymore. And Siti isnt even at her peak power. She doesnt look like have strong arms yet.

Robotic CYF doesn't have to do much.
Just return all the shots until the opponent makes an error.
