Very jealous of you guys who are able to be playing on the court with it whilst we still have to wait a while longer before able to get back onto court! In the meantime, here's my first look and mini review:
ameen, BTW where d you life? in Indonesia, we can be easier found the court and play a lot, I have tested my new weapon ASTROX 88D PRO, and it replace my old AX88S as well, very good racket I think, have a good power with good maneuverability
I live in the UK. The UK is slowly coming out of lockdown at the moment and indoor sport isn't allowed yet. There's a roadmap but it's better to be cautious than having to go back into another lockdown!
Well well seems like the 88d and s have new colorways, in tour forms, by the way they are being marketed
Follow up video to my original mini review and here's the full review of the Yonex Astrox 88S and D Pro!!
Does anyone know or have any experience on playing the Non-PRO versions and can walk through the main difference??
I try all that racket and solid good, 88s/d game feel heavier compare to tour type, hard and crude swing feel and vibrate when impact the bird, burden arm more than tour and Pro.
From sunrise click info, yonex found defect on 88d tour and game. thats the reason they push their release date for the tour and game.
88D Pro Tour available somewhere https://www.ycsports.com/Badminton/..._Rackets/YONEX_ASTROX_88D_TOUR_CAMEL_GOLD_4U5 https://www.badmintonplanet.eu/yonex-astrox-88d-tour
Yeah should be near to release, been a while since 88s game and tour released though. since astrox 100 game and tour is going to release soon as well, 88d game and tour should be released earlier than them
I think lots of people made review of 88s game, fyi the new 88s series only has 68 grommet holes in order to hold the shuttle longer, the only highlight i can see from it though. it's only solely based on my observation
Had a chance to test the 88 S and D Pros recently - my preference was definitely with the 88 S - a very quick frame and the feel of the shuttle on the strings felt very different be the original. I jotted a few notes on my blog here for those who are interested. The review of the D will follow. interesting to watch CK’s review above as concur with a lot of his points https://www.badmintonhub.co.uk/post/yonex-astrox-88-s-pro-review
Short video this time round but further updates to the rackets and I'm comparing the previous generation of Astrox 88S and D to the current Pro models.
Has anyone managed to try both the Pro and Tour model? On paper the Tour is missing out the New T-joint and Solid Feel Core (both of which are usually absent on Yonex MIT models). Would be interesting to find out especially with the Tour model coming at 60% the price.
just got and tried astrox 88d pro, I really like it. I have been playing with zforce 2 for a while and zforce 2 is a hammer compared to 88d pro. It felt very nice , i paired it with exbolt 63 at 28lbs. smashes were not as hard as zforce 2 but the overall package it was muich better to control and monouver. Really enjoyed the first session with it. Hope i dont break it like my astrox 99 touch wood.
