ST's maximum points possible is 86020 (58820 + 11000 + 9200 + 7000). She join Fuzhou China Open, Hongkong Open, Syed Modi International. She has to get the better of either AY or NO to qualify to WTF. ZBW's maximum points possible is 69100 (58100 + 11000). She only joins Fuzhou China Open. HBJ's maximum points possible is 74410 (54210 + 11000 + 9200). She only joins Fuzhou China Open and Hongkong Open. Here is the list of players who can possibly qualified to World Tour Final after Fuzhou China Open. - AY : qualified if she reaches at least Final. (77500 + 9350 = 86850 > 86020) - CYF : qualified if she reaches at least Final. (66120 + 9350 = 75470 > 74410) AY may qualified earlier depends on ST's result. CYF may qualified earlier depends on HBJ's result. NO may qualified to WTF after Fuzhou China Open, but that depends on ST's result. If ST becomes the winner, NO has to wait until next tournament.
Sameer's maximum points possible is 70780 (54580 + 9200 + 7000). He will join Hongkong Open and Syed Modi International. Kenta's maximum points possible is 74380 (54180 + 11000 + 9200). Here is the list of players who can possibly qualified to World Tour Final after Fuzhou China Open. - Tommy : qualified if he reaches at least Final. (71460 + 9350 = 80810 > 80630) Tommy may qualified earlier depends on Jonatan's result.
I think they should consider to make an exception on this 2 representatives from one country rule this time for WD. JPN has 5 pairs in top 10 and a World Champion between them. Means that they had been in so many tournaments and big supporters of the world tour this year.
Yeah, since this World Tour includes all of Grade 2 tournaments, I thought that WTF will use different format, but apparently not. I have come up with alternative format of WTF. But, I will post it later after Hongkong Open is finished.
I agree, And a simple solution can be given here: By allowing world champion to not be counted as the representative from the country in terms of allocated spot. We will still have limit of 3 players from the same country, At the same time, country will also try a little bit harder to win the World Championship since it grants them extra spot in WTF
Whether the player who participate in the WTF get performance fee in case they lost all 3 round matches ? Or at least they get the money for each win match ?
This new ranking calculation, taking into account every lower grade tournaments results with no limitation, does seem a bit silly to me, but I guess it's a good way of supporting attendance to lower-tier tournaments + reward consistence on the overall tour
You could read the complete prospectus here. All 8 players/pairs will get a prize money in the end. ● MS/WS ---> finished as 4th in group get USD 9,000.00 ● MD/WD/XD ---> finished as 4th in group get USD 10,500.00
After Fuzhou China Open, 18 players/pairs have qualified to WTF. One slot is for the other JPN WD, but the pairs who will take the spot will be determined. The rest of the spots are wide open. I believe more players/pairs will be confirmed to qualify after Hongkong Open.
any1 haf idea for ticket sales? any website for the ticket sales as event is 1 mth away but tickets sales is still not open yet
Where did you get the news? I don't believe this. If this is true, some players will protest because it will affect their progress to WTF.
Out of the pairs outside of the top 8, Praveen/Melati's maximum points possible is the highest. They will potentially earn 74250 (58050 + 9200 + 7000). Goh/Lai and Hafiz/Gloria will qualify if they reach SF. Wang/Huang will also qualify if they reach Final. However, these three players can qualify much earlier if Praveen/Melati fails. From the calculation, they just need to get at least same result as Praveen/Melati in Hongkong Open to ensure qualification.
Misaki/Ayaka will qualify if they reach SF. They can qualify much earlier if Yuki/Sayaka fail to win Hongkon Open. It is getting really tough for Yuki/Sayaka. I guess they need to perform some sort of ritual to curse Misaki/Ayaka. Stoeva sisters don't play in Hongkong Open. But, they will qualify if both Fruergaard/Thygesen and Della/Rizki fail to become winner in Hongkong Open. Chen/Jia can just lost in R1 and still confirm qualification for WTF. Lee/Shin just need to advance to R2 to qualify. Du/Li can qualify if they reach Final, but they can qualify earlier depends on the other pairs' result.
Inoue/Kaneko's maximum points possible : 57450 + 9200 + 7000 = 73650 Fajar/Rian's maximum points possible : 51830 + 9200 + 7000 + 7000 = 75130 Based from the above calculation, Liao/Su can qualify even if they lost in R1. Han/Zhou don't play in Hongkong Open, but they can qualify if both Inoue/Kaneko and Fajar/Rian fail to reach Final. The rest is wide open as a lot of pairs will play at lower tournaments.
TTY can confirm her number one spot if she reaches QF. This category has the most players who confirm the spot with 5 players. 3 more players will most likely be determined in Hongkong Open. PVS and RI will just need to advance to R2 to ensure qualification. ML will qualify if she reaches QF, but she can qualify earlier if HBJ and SJH fail to win in Hongkong Open. It is getting tougher for HBJ to qualify to WTF as she practically needs to win in Hongkong Open.
SYQ will qualify if he reaches R2. KW and ASG will qualify depends on the non top 8 players' result. Same as MD, this category is wide open. If LD reaches QF, CL will get eliminated. As long as LD and SWH plays in Hongkong Open, NKLA will get eliminated.
Yup, according to this new articles (last paragraph) : https://bwfworldtour.bwfbadminton.c...ess-for-inaugural-hsbc-bwf-world-tour-finals/ Syed Modi International (Super 300) and Scottish Open (Super 100) will be the last two tournaments towards Guangzhou WTFinals. 29th November 2018 World Ranking will determine top eight qualifiers for all five disciplines.
