GFJ nabbed G1 towards the end but my worry is she may not know for lack of experience how to adjust her strategy when her opponent is likely to change hers. GFJ's tactical awareness and experience will be put to the test, hope she learns to analyze the situation for herself and handle the mind game. It takes time to gain experience and grow up, though.
As I expected, Nozomi equalized convincingly in G2, 21-11, the decider is back to square one for both combatants with NO likely to make her experience count. In this case, I should expect experience to triumph over youthful exuberance.
Suppanyu Avihingsanon could balance Kento Momota in first game but faltered in next game, 21-16, 21-13 comprehensive victory by the Japanese star.
My other concern is, if Zhang Ning is there coaching on courtside, she might impose her instructions on GFJ too strictly and thereby restrict GFJ from using her own initiative, that is follow her instructions to the letter rather than in the spirit, which may be counter-productive. Perhaps I expect a bit too much from the 19-yr-old GFJ who after all is still in her formative stage of her young career. There's really no shortcut to experience, have to learn the hard way, however talented she is.
I'd like to think GFJ lost on experience, can't be helped. She just have to play many more tournaments, a commendable performance nevertheless from GFJ despite defeat.
A highly experienced top-notch player like NO just knows what to do or avoid during the final few points when her relatively young, inexperienced opponent is probably too eager to win or anxious or tense to keep her presence of mind, I supposed.
