If Chen Long learns to read his opponent's game better, his life will be easier

Tzu wei Wang wins. That was one tough match. But all credit to TWW for the hard fought win. He was tired in third set but kept up his attacking play breaking Wei Nan`s defence often enough to get through.
    Well played young lad.

Marc never gives up, he is all over the place, straining every sinew to retrieve everything Chen Long throws at him.

Chou Tien Chen is targetting All England this year. You can make out the way he played today.
He has a tough draw but should make it imho. He is in good form.

Lin Dan is at it again, flings his racquet at a shot he couldn't retrieve and it lands near the reporters on courtside. Exhibition stuff.

Lin Dan playing well, a controlled game, not all out, and thumps Zulfadli 21-11 in G1.

Lin Dan seems to be enjoying himself, having fun and yet drubs Z Zulfadli, 21-12, 21-11.

    xd upset in the making...

    WATANABE/HIGASHINO jpn over JORDAN/SUSANTO ina.

susanto is error prone. makes a lot of mistakes when under no pressure.
jordan is stronger but watanabe is playing smarter.

    1. XD, WS, and MD Defending Champions out in the first round :O Not sure how many times this has happened?
    2. Really sad for Nozomi. That's tough loss to take to begin the year, she never looked as if she was controlling the game and looked tentative from the very first points.. She lost her touch somehow, too passive, too defensive, too hesitant. Akane on the contrary injected more power and more pace in her game. That's also another 11000 rankings point loss for Nozomi who will further drop in the rankings. I think it is a mistake that she didn't play in the German Open! Hopefully she will comeback at some point.
    3. On an good note, Ratchanok seems to have find back some kind of good form! Still a little bit tentative on her shots but I can see her compete.
    4. This is looking quite bad for TTY though, her performance today was really lacking and she was lucky to escape from that first game. Nothing like her scintillating performance in Dubai so far.
    5. Really happy for Watanabe/ Arisa ! That's a huge win and it shows they are a force to reckon with
    6. A shame SWH retired.. Would have been nice to see him play against Chen long

Already a lot of upsets as three defending champions crash out, as in MD, XD and WS. Perhaps many upset will happen near future.
