The most prestigious event in BWF Superseries circuit is back, featuring almost all Rio Olympic medalists except the defunct pair Fu Haifeng/Zhang Nan. Resembling previous editions, 2017 Yonex All England attracts all top names to take part in this oldest badminton tournament and will present high competitive matches in six days ahead.

Since 2009 edition, men's singles champion can't be separated from the triumvirate, Lin Dan (winner of 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2012, 2016 edition), Lee Chong Wei (2010, 2011, 2014) and Chen Long (2013, 2015). It's challenge for others to break their dominance to top All England podium this year. Two Danish stars are considered to be closest rival, Viktor Axelsen-Jan Jorgensen and don't underestimate string of darkhorses and underdogs who often shock the favourites lately. Defending champion Lin will start his campaign to meet 2011 WJC Zulfadli Zulkiffli, barring any upsets he's slated to meet Rio bronze medalist, Viktor Axelsen in last eight. German Open premature exit for Lin certainly raises speculation whether this enigmatic Chinese ace is conserving energy to do well here. There-time winner Lee who's his attendance was doubted initially due to knee injury last month gets qualifier in opening round and will face either Wei Nan or TPE rising star Wang Tzu Wei in last sixteen. The reigning Olympic Champion Chen is trying to regain his top form has tricky path en route to semifinal, Marc Zwiebler will be his first hurdle tomorrow.

First tournament for Japanese starlet Nozomi Okuhara in this season, it's arduous journey to defend her title as she will face Indian superstar Saina Nehwal at very first round. Top-two seeded, Tai Tzu Ying and Carolina Marin also new Indian darling, P.V. Sindhu will be strongest candidates to clinch victory here. Tai TY stellar performance in last quarter of 2016 definitely will boost her confidence to realize All England triumphant, Marin has motivation to end title drought post Rio OG and Sindhu is training hard to follow Padukone and Gopichand successful story. Once the frontrunner in this discipline, China brings the young trio this time, Sun Yu, He Bingjiao, Chen Yufei and expected to spring upset against those established names.

Ivanov/Sozonov sensational run last year awed badminton fans and we may see new faces to lift the trophy on Sunday's finale, the Russian pair have tough job to clear first test, 8th seed Conrad/Kolding who beat them in semifinal of just concluded German Open. The most significant missing in MD draw is none Korean pair in the fray, world number one Goh/Tan who succeeded in season-ending Dubai Finals should have no problem to clear preliminary round and scripted to meet Chinese youngsters Li JH/Liu YC in quarterfinal. Join them at top-half draw are home favourite Ellis/Langridge who will challenge Indonesian number two Pratama/Suwardi and third seed the on-fire Kamura/Sonoda. On bottom half, former champion Boe/Mogensen will find the unheralded Chinese pair Lu K/Zheng SW in opening round.

Current world best WD combination, Matsutomo/Takahashi and Chinese young guns Chen QC/Jia YF will be hot favourite in this tournament, thanks to their last year impressive performance. Chen/Jia will meet tricky test, Japanese pair Tanaka/Yonemoto who defeated them in first encounter at China Premier last November. In mixed doubles category, Indonesian pairs carved their names four times in All England winner's list in last five year, Rio gold medalist Ahmad/Natsir and reigning champion Jordan/Susanto will be INA best hopeful to repeat the outcome and their major stumbling block will coming from Chinese phenomenal duo Zheng SW/Chen QC. The rookies scored fantastic record post Rio Games and soaring their world ranking to be current number 1.

I haven't seen a tougher Qualification round than that in the history of Badminton. Anders Antonsen vs Takuma Ueda in Qualifying Round 1, are you kidding me?!

Anders Antonsen has been promoted to main draw to replace Jonatan Christie. It's unfavourable draw for the 19 years old Antonsen who will take on his senior Viktor Axelsen tomorrow.

Honestly, I'm confused initially since there're two similar threads about All England 2017 :D
