Forget about next week, it's the final already, just concentrate on winning this one, both of them.

LXR underestimates herself more than any other player in the history of badminton.

It's a first SS title for Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Markus Fernaldi Gideon! They justify their selection for the Thomas Cup Finals 2016 by beating their more experienced and higher ranked compatriots Angga Pratama/Ricky Karanda Suwardi.

I have been a fan of Kevin since he was 15 yo, a junior player at PB Djarum. He had already displayed tremendous talents since then and I am not surprised that he is now winning a SS title at the tender age of 20 (he's only turning 21 in August this year). Not to mention, he is a very versatile player and has played with many partners in both MD and XD. His junior-days achievements were as follows:
BAC U-19 BD Bronze Medal - 2012 (with Alfian Eko Prasetya) and 2013 (with Arya Maulana Aldiartama)
BAC U-19 Team Event Bronze Medal - 2013
BWF WJC (U-19) XD Silver Medal - 2013 (with Masita Mahmudin)
BWF WJC Team Event (Suhandinata Cup) Team Event) Silver Medal - 2013

He mainly plays in MD after his junior days and has won the following titles:
Vietnam International Challenge - 2014 (with Selvanus Geh)
Bulgarian International Challenge - 2014 (with Selvanus Geh)
New Zealand Open GP - 2014 (with Selvanus Geh)
SEA Games Team Event - 2015 (with Markus Fernaldi Gideon)
Chinese-Taipei Open GP - 2015 (with Markus Fernaldi Gideon)
Malaysia Masters GPG - 2016 (with Markus Fernaldi Gideon)
India Open SS - 2016 (with Markus Fernaldi Gideon)

He also finished as runners-up in the following GP/GPG events:
Indonesia Masters GPG - 2015 (with Selvanus Geh), lost to Markis Kido/Markus Fernaldi Gideon
SEA Games Individual Event - 2015 (with Markus Fernaldi Gideon), lost to Angga Pratama/Ricky Karanda Suwardi
Chinese-Taipei Masters GPG - 2015 (with Markus Fernaldi Gideon), lost to Fu Haifeng/Zhang Nan

May this title motivate young Kevin to improve even further and become a World Champion in the future! He is not going to the Rio Olympics 2016 but he will be at a prime age of 25 for the next Tokyo Olympics 2020 with whoever he's going to be partnered with!
