If LD was playing a Singaporean singles player, he would be playing whatever he likes and still win ezpz.

LDK is killing himself trying to keep up with LD; props to him as LD came out of the gate at a roaring pace which barely let up over 2 games, this is probably the hardest LDK ever played in his life--as the Chinese commentator on CCTV5 puts it, "this is LD's revealing his Olympic form!".

it is do or die for CHN and KOREA now. KOR MD#2 knows this is their greatest chance to end this right now.

Wow congratulations Denmark for winning the match over Japan 3-2.

Even when Denmark gamble and field in their young MD pair they still win it through their MS 3. Congratulations Hans Kristian Vittinghus. You did a good job. You are the savior of the day. The Thomas Cup 2014 champion and winner has crumbled and lose in the quarterfinals of this year Thomas Cup 2016. Looks like unbelievable but now it is true because Japan couldn't send their best team. What a sad ending for Thomas Cup 2014 winner.

JOJ slipped and hurt his groin in the rubber game against Chinese Taipei's 2nd MS Hsu-- I thought he was just being sporting in finishing the game with a cramp, but the Danish coaches apparently thought an injured JOJ could still beat lowly ranked Ueda.... Either that or they can't trust Emil Holst to beat newbie Takeshita (if they field Vittinghus against Ueda, then they must field a lower ranked player against Takeshita).

Actually, long time ago, LD as WR1 and also seeded #1 at the Athens Olympics, thought that Singapore was chicken feed and played as he liked against a nobody Singaporean.

The result was that he got booted out in the first round and he must have reminded himself never to underestimate any opponent.

Honour is more important than winning for some.

    Some people are unabashed, however.

Pity Jan O Jorgen for getting injured. Just hope that his injury is not that serious. This rather explains his poor performance. Injury cause it.

i still remember that like it was yesterday, Ronald Susilo upset Lin Dan in the Olympics 12 years ago, whom already thought the Gold was his and already planned how to celebrate.

I am sure Lin Dan remember it like it was yesterday too.

Li / Zheng will have to play the match of their lives in order to win this.

and it is very unlikely. Kim/Kim is no easy meat.

That's true. Given this is Malaysia, they can trip themselves in any random fashion.
