Vittinghus finally takes the first game 23-21 after surviving a scare from Takeshita fightback

Apparently most of the crowd is turning their attention to Court 4 where a tug-of-war is going on, assuming Lin Dan's match is a foregone conclusion.

After easing off a little, allowing LDK to creep back a little, Lin Dan steps it up again.

Surprised that LDK had learnt to be more aggressive and had LD on his knees!

Okay for Japan versus Denmark result is now 2-2.

MS 3 result favoring Hans Kristian Vittinghus as he just won the first set 23-21. Now second set also Hans leading 2-0. A good sign that it is Denmark will win in the end 3-2. What todo Japan send a weakened team this time. cannot even win in the QF. So pitiful.

What's happening to LDK, bent double and crouching at the court-side?

At least LDK has improved on his score despite his lack of fitness.

As expected Lin Dan steps up to the plate and delivers for CHN.

Another point for an unusual backhand that left LD stranded before LD finally won as expected.

It appeared to me Lin Dan played with higher intensity and more urgency in G1 than in G2, and it's reflected in the score in this case.

11-6 during the break to Vittinghus, now 11-9... Why make it such a thriller HK?

KOR has a better chance...no idea why CHN put Li/Zheng on instead of Li/Liu

I would think LD is forced to lose more points in G2 as his own fitness did not match up to his G1 and LDK has learnt how to deal with LD better by scoring more points.
