INDIA FAILS again! Just a precision repeat of the 2014 Uber Cup Semi Finals... both Saina & Sindhu won, the rest went busted.

    JPN 3 - 2 IND

I am worried. Sindhu has to do double duties. Playing singles and doubles & expecting her to win both?

    Really frustrating .

What an awful performance by nozomi :( Not one rally in the whole second game, puttin everything out. Saina could have been thinking she was playing against a qualifier. Complete mental breakdown. Maybe the pressure of being captain and having to open the tie..

The WD saved the honour at last though. What a great show this last match was. Really didn't understand why japan didn't put Fukuman/ Yonao as WD2 though. Would have worked better against the agressive offensive indian pairing (which seems more effecient than the normal one btw). Matsuo/ Naito really had to adapt their game in G2, being a lot more offensive then I have ever seen them lol. Great team spirit.

I was just about to say this. Japan no chance to win and top the group.

This might affect her performance in the weeks to come, and of course at Rio. Her showing recently has not been as good as it was last year but this is something else

This lineup of Denmark versus China is even more interesting.

    1 WS1

Li Xuerui versus Natalia Koeh Rohde

    2 WD1
Cheng Qingchen / Tang Yuanting versus Maiken Fruergaard / Sara Thygesen

    3 WS2
Wang Yihan versus Anna Thea Madsen

    4 WD2
Tang Jinhua / Zhao Yunlei versus Line Kjaersfeldt / Mette Poulsen

    5 WS3
    Sun Yu versus Mia Blichfeldt

So totally no chance at all for Denmark to win China with this lineup. They even field in WS as WD players. WS for Denmark side also weak. I predict China will win it easily 5-0. Denmark didn't even field in their best WD.

Yes this was very awkward. To lose with that score in barely 30 min is quite uncharacteristic. I think it was just a lot of pressure, maybe difficulty to adapt to the court conditions as well. But she's gonna have to do much better than this in the next few days. It's so important for the team to have a first good performance, no exclusively a win, but a least a positive match, not a complete whitewash as it was.

To be honest with you Nozomi Okuhara has not been performing well off late in all the tournaments that she is participating. Surely something is bothering her getting whitewash just like that. On top of that she is not injured. She needs to find out the reason why quickly and come up with amendments.

Several times Chen Long caught Sasaki out of position and still made the error.

Chen Long's mind is in a whirl, he's playing mechanically. He must calm down, composed himself and regain his touch.

Sho Sasaki is such an amazing veteran and late bloomer. Once in a while he is so brilliant, playing like a world champion.

Chen Long simply cannot let himself go and play freely, more often than not he being forced onto the defensive by Sho.

The pressure of the burden of expectation, and maybe some Thomas Cup phobia of what happened in the past.
