Omg without realizing I've already hit replay for this scene more than 10 times :)

Now to root for our neighbor Malaysia for her maiden Olympic gold.

    Malaysia boleh! LCW boleh!

    "Indonesia Tanah Air Ku"............ juga.

Kepada saudara-saudara serumpunku di seberang sana.

Mari kita sama-sama menyanyikan Negaraku pada hari ini.
    "Negaraku tanah Tumpahnya Darahku
    Rakyat Hidup bersatu dan maju
    Rahmat bahagia Tuhan Kurniakan
    Raja kita selamat bertahta"

...Nyanyi dengan melodi " Terang Boelan" ;);).
    Indonesia Malaysia Boleh.

Are the Malaysians with Chinese Descent able to speak Malay fluently? I only find a video of Lee Chong Wei speak Malay. Other players, like Chan/Goh or KKK/TBH usually speak English when they are interviewed. Do they memorize 'Negaraku" lyric as well?

Err, how does this signal the "return" of INA when Natsir is already a veteran?

You are talking about Thomas Cup showing where INA did pretty well with a lot of youngsters, right?

Some silly youngsters just look at Morten's playing history and forgot to look at his coaching history (I believe Denmark's most successful badminton medal haul to date, barring Rio 2016 of course, was during his coaching)...

At his level, he functions as a "developmental coach"-- as in he will be hiring people to teach the right techniques, give the right physio/med support, etc.

Yup, they should get special bonus for winning gold before Independence Day expired ...... the match was done less than 5 minutes before midnight Western Indonesia Time.

Butet is just fantastic for her achievement. It is nice to see the other young badminton players on the podium, especially Ms Goh for her perseverance. Of course it is memorable to hear the Indonesian National Anthem played again!

She's a professional model before coming back to win Olympic Silver. I suppose she might return to modelling again when she retires soon.

The video is geo-restricted. I can't watch it in Australia. I have few friends from Malaysia here. I always struggle to understand what they say but I guess they are more confused than me to understand what I say. In conversation, we usually switch to English after some sentences in Bahasa.

    Final recap:

This mixed doubles competition is probably one of the most comprehensive victories in Olympics history. I would say only Lin Dan's superb demolition of Lee Chong Wei in Beijing is better. Lilyana Natsir can now retire with a complete string of titles and parity with Zhao Yunlei in Olympic and World Championship mixed victories.

On the Malaysian side, Goh Liu Ying tried hard to balance the net but Chan was hit by the jitters and sent a lot of returns loose. Malaysians ended up lifting too much. Still, they have over-achieved and hopefully would spark more interest from younger talents in the mixed discipline.
