I don't watch much group stages, because some players don't show their true colours or go all out when they know they will be in top 2 of their group to advance.

Like Ahsan/Setiawan, etc. But can't blame them for being smart and tactical to conserve energy for the elimination stage.

That's quite true. Even Tang TY is lazy to hit big smashes.

I was expecting a disappointing start/group phase from the German players, but certainly not Zwiebler losing to Evans...

The Stoeva sisters lost their two matches. They're out likely.

Very disappointed indeed. At least we still have Wang Yihan. :)

    Probably he did it purposely.

What about conserve energy? Hehe. Yeah, makes no sense. I was joking earlier. Now he must win his last match.

He still has two matches to go. The match against Evans was his first.

Good job by Ko/Kim, they rolled on their opponents.

Ah right. I mixed it up with Ahsan/setiawan. They gotta win against Chai/Hong to enter the QF right?

Marc only has 1 match left to go. He needs a lot of things to happen to make it to R16.

I don't know. Could be. Also depends on the other players' results, right?

You're right. My bad. Forgot that his group only has 3 players. But he should win his second match easily?

No doubt. This no-name player on paper is no match for him.

But I seriously doubt Evans is gonna lose against that guy....so Marc's basically out.

Regarding Ahsan/Setiawan, winner of their match against Chai/Hong advances since both have a 1-1 record. Endo/Hayakawa are through for sure and the scrub pairing who lost both matches is definitely out (cant remember who that is).

In MS both Danes looked like they mean business in the first round, and they actually had opponents that can play.

I haven't seen Chen Long play.

LD was a bit difficult to guage, except he looked strong in 2nd set when the Russian ran out of steam. I had thought (and hoped) that he would have been even more dominant, instead of slowly grinding down the surprisingly good fighting Russian.

And we're still looking forward to see LCW play. :)
