The organisers are probably worried that he would do a MAS open.

    They suck mentally....
Serriously get Zheng Siwei in there and replace any of XC or LC/LK....
Get Chen Qingchen in as well, BYX is a major failure at the highest level.

In local newspaper Jonathan Christie said he embarrassed could not give better fight to two times Olympic gold medalist, Lin Dan. But he also appreciate the chance being taught by his idol

He doesn't need to feel embarrassed. I believe he did his best. He can take it as a learning experience to hone his skills. He is still young and has long way ahead of him.

Be very careful when you do mention TIRED / FATIGUE / EXHAUSTED here, some people here simply can't accept those words... they're taboo ones for a professional player should never deal with any exhaustion!

Actually I'm quite okay that an athlete is also a human, he/she also experiences tiredness / fatigue / exhaustion if he/she has too much. They are stronger physically than the ordinary folks, but they have sure limit :)

Any one knows what made the significant differences in the match outcomes between Jonathan Christie's earlier match against Chen Long in MAS SSP and here against Lin Dan? The Livescore waching yesterday explained nothing :)

It is very difficult to use that as an excuse though. Just like the draft, it affects (or can potentially affect) both sides.

The more short-term exhaustion excuse would be more acceptable, e.g. if a player had a late match the day before and an early match after. Or 3, 4 matches in a day (doubles players in qualifying round, it's possible).

Yeah, he can be fast when he needed to. But he also slowed the shuttle down when Christie tried to push the pace - affecting Christie's timing.

Neither of these two pairs are good enough for the OLYMPICS. Reddy was pretty good at the net and they could have taken Ma Jin/Xu Chen to 3 if not for lack of composure.

As good as Bao Yixin is, she doesn't have the leadership values inherent in Zhao Yunlei, Lilyana Natsir or Ma Jin - so she cannot quite help Liu Cheng in crisis.

Kurihara was practically spending all her time in crouch defence, but was still able to make accurate returns.

"Fast" normally means his movement, not how hard he hits the shuttle.

I still need him tested against a truly fast player - unfortunately most of them have been sent packing ......
