Tournament's first round saw one of men's singles frontrunners Jan O Jorgensen also 7th seed Chou Tien Chen as well bit the dust, lost to Japanese Sho Sasaki and Hong Kong promising star Angus Ng Ka Long respectively. Indian player H.S. Prannoy almost created big headline as he stretched two-time world champion Chen Long into the limit, at the brink of losing once again Chen escaped in really close margin, 21-19 at deciding game. The slow-starter top-seed will take on former champion Boonsak Ponsana next. Some intriguing ties at this stage will pit Axelsen v Son WH, the qualifier Kuncoro v Sasaki, Angus Ng v Zwiebler, Vittinghus v Sugiarto and the on-fire Indonesian teenager Jonatan Christie will meet his idol Lin Dan.

Women's singles number one seed Carolina Marin, former world champion Ratchanok Intanon, two-time winner Wang Yihan, Japanese wonder teen Akane Yamaguchi eliminated their first round opponent without serious trouble. Several close contests will be expected at second round, Marin v Thailand's Jindapon, Wang YH vs Porntip, Yamaguchi v 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medalist, Michelle Li. Bottom half of draw witnessed more appealing script, just concluded MAS Premier runner-up Tai Tzu Ying (7th seed) was sent packing early by Chinese future star He Bingjiao, Indian #2 P.V. Sindhu dropped first game before sealed the next two sets against Busanan, next He BJ & Sindhu will face off tomorrow. Title contender Nozomi Okuhara has defending champion Sun Yu for a place in quarterfinal. The tall Chinese delivered a heartbreak for home fans to down Liang Xiaoyu in straight games. Korean leading WS, Sung Ji Hyun will repeat her rivalry against Sayaka Sato, 4th meeting tomorrow in this year.

A contrast outcome for Kim GJ/Kim SR as they failed to pass opening round after topped podium in Shah Alam on last Sunday, the 6th seed Korean pair lost to familiar rival, Kamura/Sonoda in rubber games. Fifth seed Endo/Hayakawa denied early round setback against German pair Fuchs/Schoettler, a thrilling match that ended 25-23 for the Japanese to advance. 2013 winner, Ahsan/Setiawan also battled hard to dispose TPE Liao MC/Tseng MH, they will take on Indian pair Chopra/Dewalkar tomorrow. Strong contender Lee YD/Yoo YS once again have MAS pair Goh VS/Tan WK as their second round opponent, a rematch of last week MAS Premier. Defending champion Pratama/Suwardi are favoured to pass 2014 World Junior Champion Dechapol/Kittinupong. Another seeded pairs, Fu HF/Zhang N have lower-ranked TPE combination Liao KH/Lu CP, Chai B/Hong W will up against Angriawan/Saputra and one intriguing tie will see Ko SH/Shin BC v recent IND SS champion Gideon/Sukamuljo.

No serious threat for all top-ranked WD pairs, the tougher rival will be started tomorrow particularly bottom-half draw. Second seed Maheswari/Polii will be tested by Go AR/Yoo HW and CHN-KOR clashes will involve Chang YN/Lee SH v Chen QC/Jia YF, Jung KE/Shin SC v the relatively new combination Huang YQ/Tang JH. At upper half draw, hot favourite Matsutomo/Takahashi, the Olympic Champion Tian Q/Zhao YL and recent SUI Open winner Matsuo/Naito should have no problem to cruise into last eight.

What we see now is extraordinary. In all 5 disciplines, anyone can win. Players or team enjoy one or two tournaments of good form winning streaks, then are replaced by others. Even WD is like that, though to a lesser extent.

This SO has taken into account feedback from badminton fans who wish to capture the action on court.
We are now allowed to use cameras with attachments, but of course no flash photography.

    As such I'm able to share with you some pictures I've taken: :D IMG_0993 Big picture.JPG IMG_0995.JPG IMG_0997.JPG IMG_0998.JPG IMG_0999.JPG IMG_1002.JPG IMG_1003.JPG IMG_1005 May reaching for her racket.JPG IMG_1006 May handshakes Umpire.JPG IMG_1011 May warms up.JPG

Plz capture Lin Dan too if your camera allows but I doubt so coz cameras these days can't stop staring at Ratchanok. Not your fault tho.
