SEMIFINAL ORDER OF PLAY (01.00pm local time, 2 court) => http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...0E6107-082C-4213-9BD3-275899B78F26&d=20160409

Here we go, the semifinal will present some intriguing encounters, the local organizer arranges big match Lee Chong Wei v Jan O Jorgensen as last tie at TV court. Two last year champions, Chen Long and Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei are still on course to defend their title.

Home icon Lee Chong Wei as predicted is going to the script, disposed Viktor Axelsen with his signature style yesterday. Lee will take on another Danish player, Jan O Jorgensen for a final berth. Jorgensen denied the Lin-Lee classic duel and surprisingly passed two-time Olympic Champion Lin Dan in comfortable way. The dispirited Lin who was disappointed with court officials looked gave up at second game when the match ended at 21-4. Indonesian qualifier Jonatan Christie continues his dream run to perform beyond expectation and booked first ever semifinal round in Premier event, heavyweight opponent is waiting for him to create major breakthrough, none but two-time World Champion Chen Long. Christie edged past Rajiv Ouseph while Chen eliminated his younger compatriot Tian Houwei at last eight.

Two talented and skillful WS players, Ratchanok Intanon and Tai Tzu Ying outplayed their quarterfinal rival yesterday, P.V. Sindhu and Wang Shixian respectively. The Thai number one will face toughest test, Wang Yihan where the limping head to head favours to the Chinese, 12-0. Wang shocked hot favourite and top-seed Carolina Marin yesterday in convincing fashion and the Chinese seems at her good shape. Tai TY has high confidence to overcome Indian jewel Saina Nehwal as the Chinese Taipei player scored victory in last five meetings. Her big boost started when she knocked out the Olympic Champion Li Xuerui in last sixteen.

Korea MD have guaranteed 1 final spot thorugh Lee YD/Yoo YS v Kim GJ/Kim SR. The world number one got scary escape against Endo/Hayakawa yesterday, won narrowly at the end. Kim/Kim stunned China leading pair Fu HF/Zhang N in three games. At lower half draw, Conrad/Kolding sent packing last year winner Indonesian supreme combination, Ahsan/Setiawan. The Danish pair will up against Chai B/Hong W next who downed former world champion Ko SH/Shin BC in straight-sets match.

WD semifinal will feature another CHN-JPN clash at top-half draw, a rematch of first round IND SS last week, the unseeded Matsuo/Naito v 5th seed Tang YT/Yu Y. These two semifinalists eliminated more favoured rival yesterday, the reigning Olympic champion Tian Q/Zhao YL and the in-form Matsutomo/Takahashi respectively. Indonesia best pair in this discipline, Maheswari/Polii will be tested by another Korean hurdle, Jung KE/Shin SC to hunt final berth. 2014 Asian Games gold medalist had gruelling quarterfinal match against Chang YN/Lee SH while Jung/Shin took revenge over Chinese juniors Chen QC/Jia YF.

The multiple champion Zhang N/Zhao YL have smooth path en route to semifinal, they have local challenger this evening, Chan PS/Goh LY who troubled by Thai young sensation Dechapol/Taerattanachai last night. Head to head statistics, 9-0 describe the world number one is overwhelming favourite to win this tie but the underdogs Malaysian with fully supported by home fans may reject on paper prediction. Two elite pairs will face off earlier this afternoon, second seed Ahmad/Natsir against 2013 winner Fischer/Pedersen. The Indonesians are struggling lately but considering their performance here, it seems they're back on the right track to face the pumped-up European finest. Both of them defeated familiar rivals yesterday, Adcock/Adcock lost to the Indonesian and Ko SH/Kim HN were stopped by Danish duo.

I think Christie Jonatan would win today due to various factors, drift affecting Chen Long's rhythm, lengths in his defense, also crowd support, skills and hunger of Jonatan.

On Paper, Saina Nehwal is BWF Rank 8 but her performance is on par with players in the top 4. Her biggest mental block is Li Xuerui and Tai Tzu Ying is her second mental block. Will she break the shackles? :)
