I partly agree. But then they should lose in three, in tight affairs, not barely making it to double digits!

    At the post-match conference:

Reporter (asking LCW) :Can you evaluate a bit Chen Long's performance in the match?

Lee CW (replied) :I think Chen Long today made a lot of simple mistakes (unforced errors). After I won the 1st set and leading in the 2nd, he became somewhat impatient, kept wanting to attack, and when his attack failed to score points (outright) he began to make more mistakes.

I couldn't manage to watch any of today's matches.. School life demerits!!
Was LXR too good? Or SN was lumbering and failed to cover the court?
The scoreline is disheartening.. I don't know why GC keep on praising SN's mental toughness.. In my opinion even PV is tougher then her mentally.. She should have won g2 from 12-6 as you say..
But keeping in mind her injuries its a great performance.. And its good to see LXR back in form its the OG cycle effect I believe.. I really like her watching she stands close second in my fav list of course :D
Also congrats to LCW Datuk is back.. Although I am a huge CL fan its OK if he looses one or two finals.. He already had many SS this year also loosing to someone who is as great as LCW and is in form I believe doesnt harm at all..CL win learn alot from this tourney..

Too easy from LCW, silencing China fans for a while. Strange that no one even commented on the MD match after the MS match. Can see that there are a lot of China fans (that is, fans who only take interest in badminton just to see China win at something) and not actual badminton fans on this forum hehe. Anyway, fun times.

SN basically got schooled by LXR. Even her huge lead in game 2 were mostly from LXR's unforced errors.

Li Xuerui's tactics were superior. Saina couldn't adapt adequately enough.

congrats to LCW , glad that he came back so strong and beat CL convincingly... which will make RIO open...

happy that LXR won , as what I said , I believe she is at least 1 level above any of the players, in terms of skills and technique , I dare say no one is near her at the moment.... hope she can maintain her form.

well unfortunately, and has been mentioned before, badminton is still a very nationalistic sport. training is done by national team and individual players are always seen under the flag of their country.

as opposed to say tennis where players are more individual and most of the time i don't even know where a player is from.

given that, fans very naturally look at player first by their country and second as individuals.

unfortunately very few korean fans are in this forum so there isn't much in terms of interests, and on top of that, the players are still relatively young and don't have a great following either.

Suddenly we see so many LCW fans coming here to congratulate him which is good.
This won't be too often so make hay while the sun shines.

As Kwun said, badminton is still a nationalistic sport, hopefully not to non-CHN fans.
And for CHN fans, it's time for them to start to learn and appreciate badminton more instead of being too idolists.

Look at my previous post #414. I did mention it congratulating Kim Gi Jung / Kim Sa Rang about him winning the MD title. However, I also said that I didn't want to comment on the China MD performance because it is just too embarrassing. I didn't feel like humiliating the China MD performance. And to be honest to you that is the worst MD final that I have aver watched in my life. Till today I still wonder how such a poor performing player can reach the finals making it so not exciting. Its okay no need to talk about it anymore. It is already history. :)

Remember the smoke incident during the WD Final ? Turned out to be dry ice machine malfunctioned, discharging dry ice for no reason. What is the machine doing there? It's meant to produce smoke for the performance item by the dance squad in between matches.

Actually, LCW is very well liked in CHN. You could hear that many of the spectators were supporting him through the match.
