It is not only other countries level, but Chinese level has very clearly deteriorated as well. Each player has her own set of problems: LXR- Mentally brittle, will break down under stress. Also extremely prone to errors. WYH- Seems to have no energy to continue any more WSX- No capacity to attack, at all! SY- Too inexperienced.
That goes to other country players as well. Nobody is perfect . They have certain weakness (each and everybody) as well. Li xuerui accepted(in an interview) that there is no difference in the level of playing between certain top level players and china (whether you accept it or not, that is reality).
Chen Jin seriously needs to go. Who could have thought that Kristy Gilmour will take one game off LXR, and WYH will be struggling against Linda Zetchiri.
LXR take 2nd game 21-15. We'll see how she manage the 3rd game. Meanwhile, WHY trail 10-11 in 1st game against Linda Z. Both of European WS play good today..
I am talking about previous years. And it is about the level of imperfection. These imperfections that I have listed are pretty major and fundamental ones. Having a mentally brittle player lead your squad is a very big failure, and imperfection. Also, no doubt some players of other countries have caught up, but according to me, that is 40%. 60% of the reason is that CHN Badminton has gone seriously down. You can see that by seeing the CHN strength 4 years back, and today, not only in the relative sense, but in absolute sense as well.
Incredibly subjective. It's hard to scientifically measure art or something that appears like art. WYH loses first set to LZ. Big surprise there. Again, she should take the next two sets, but this is getting ridiculous.
I think Chen Jin has instructed the China WS players to give opponents large leads and see if you can come back and win.
