To be frank, Marin didn't play badly, quite well actually, but LXR was just better. Atm, Carolina is still Europe's brightest prospect, with a few others coming up, namely Gilmour, Gavnholt, Line, and a couple of names I don't remember offhand.
LXR is just a joy to watch. esp when she is not in pressure and looks like she is enjoying the match. many beautifully executed yet creative shots. I am glad I decided to take a break tonight and watch some badminton.
LXR is so good, seem unstoppable. Well, well is there anyone to stop her here and the next tournament?
It is this part of her play that I dislike to watch. Marin tried to match LXR speed for speed and stroke for stroke and ended up only reacting to LXR's game. In the process she returned the favors from LXR with a few unforced errors of her own. Otherwise, LXR would have brought upon herself some unnecessary pressures like what I have seen in numerous of her matches.
Vittinghus is a big dude. hits some impressive shots but not fast enough to go against skillful Tago.
I don't see anyone can stop her here in this tournament but the Wangs will be waiting for her the next one.
So it'll likely be LXR vs. LX in the final...how scintillating...NOT! With the RotW always falling by the wayside, no wonder there's practically no interest in the women's game these days. At least we're due to have a clash of the greatest two (supposedly) on the men's side...
Same sentiment here. I really hope she can take a leaf from her idol Lin Dan and improve on her accuracy and consistency in shot-making. All those simple errors when not under pressure puts me off too - that's because I've very high hopes for her becoming a truly great player which she is well capable of.
Well, it's getting harder to win back-to-back SS titles and waiting for LXR next week will be several players who start fresh or much fresher;besides WSX and WYH, you have Intanon, Busanan,Saina, Sindhu, Bae YJ, etc.
Have a question: Why don't they use the display to show how fast the shuttle was im km/h? e.G. after a smash from Tago. Tago: 257 km/h Some years ago, I think they used it much more often than today. Does somebody know why?
Now that you mention it, I'm wondering too. Maybe BWF and the organizer want to save some cost as we already have the expensive Hawk-Eye system, just guessing.
Since they have been doing that for quite some time, I guess they already have the equipments and trained staffs to do that so I don't think it would take a lot of money.
