Intanon playing better in G2, 11-7, finds her rhythm. We may get to see a rubber.

Ratchanok needs to get her act together or we'll be a step closer to another stale China versus China WS final. As it is, Akane's loss has done enough damage.

No end to Intanon's woes, she's eliminated in R1 by Liu Xin, not entirely unexpected to me.

OTOH, Yao Xue disappoints, losing a tight 3-set encounter to Kana Ito. YX has a fierce attack but not the defense to match and more often than not finds herself on the receiving end of her opponents' counter-attacks, and she appears impatient to finish off the rally. But on her day, her devastating offensive game can trouble most players.

I am sure RI wants to go to Disneyland.;)
But she would be lonely her teammates have to play tomorrow. Liu Xin did well.

Yup, last year's winner and runner up have been knocked out at very early stage, even Uchida failed to secure main draw ticket.

Agree, too bad her slump performance continues...

Looks like Sun Yu is CHN best talent after world top three, Li + Wangs. Yao Xue, Deng Xuan, Suo Di, Chen Xiaojia are just average player?!

Axelsen pushing the pace too much for Shomaker Sasaki.

The young Axelsen outpowered veteran home MS, Sasaki with 21-9 for game 1.

Oh...that was a superb as well as unexpected performances from tarun/ashwini, Tanvi, and saurabh...but at the same time Srikanth and Kashyap disappointed a lot..whenever I feel Srikanth will be a world power in future he dissapoints at that very moment...yui hoshimoto played well I am very fond of her competitive style but unfortunately SJH won...Carolina impressed again...And JOJ confirmed that kento still needs to be improve to get past top5 players....

Sho Sasaki shows the youngster what he is made of and emerges as the winner of the match.

SJH escaped a first round loss earlier today but her teammate BYJ is not so lucky as she goes down to Zhang Beiwen in 2 games, 10-21 and 22-24.

Think Axelsen put everything he has in G1, in G2, he already seemed a bit out of power. G3 was a bit better than G2 but not as fast and as flexable as G1.
    Great win, Sasaki.

    Lin Dan also won Round 1 with 21 - 15 / 21 - 18 against compatriot Xue Song.

As for Kento Momota, so far this is the the 4th time this year that he was bundled out in R1, previously to Liu Kai at the BAC, to Tanongsak at the SIN Open SS and to HKV at IND Open SS. It must be awkward to suffer another R1 elimination, this time on home turf.
