2014 Yonex JAPAN Open SS : Qualification & Round of 32 (10th & 11th June 2014)

Thanks a lot,Mr.Epic, for posting the video. Yeah, Lin Dan at the start was making too many uncharacteristic errors and rallying too much. Still continuing to play a controlled game, he later upped the tempo, cut down on the unforced errors and went on the offensive a bit more but , on the whole, I must say a far cry from the ferocious, fast-paced aggressive attacking game that used to define his style years ago, specifically before and up to the LOG'12.

As for Darren, I actually think he acquitted himself much better against Lin Dan than he did versus Takuma Ueda in the Thomas Cup. I venture to say, had Darren played like that against T Ueda, significantly more positive,urgent and proactive...well, you get my drift.
 
I have to say, LD isn't as exciting to watch as he used to be anymore. I really liked his "all out" playing style (OG 08) and his mixture of aggressive and deceptive play (OG 12, WC 13).

He also seems to have gotten considerably slower, although his footwork is still fluid as it used to, he's taking several drop shots desperately late. I'm used to him not giving his best most of the time, as he usually ups his game as the tournaments progress. But I'm not sure he can do this to the extend he did years ago and I'm very interested to see how he will do against a fast and fit LCW (if they meet).

Wow! Puttita/Nipitphon don't go Disneyland in early round:rolleyes:, They just upset 6seed XD.:D
Thailand has more another good player not RI alone.:p

They did well. What happen to the Korean? Look at the score 21-9,21-12!!
