Another shock result when the younger and less illustrious but more motivated MD pair DEFEATED their no.1 seeded senior pair in three games. Kamura and Sonoda, seeded 8 beat no.1 compatriots Endo and Hayakawa 21-19, 14-21, 21-14. Japan's doubles department seems to get stronger by the day! One unique feature of the German Open is that the winners in the final get a round of applause while they walk their victory round together. Very appreciative and orderly crowd.
