    Takahashi sisters on the podium

Wow isn't it nice to see both Ayaka Takahashi and her sister Sayaka on this German Open winners' podium? Ayaka was the WD Champion with partner Misaki Matsutomo and Sayaka the WS Champion who shocked Korea's no.1 seed Sung Ji Hyun.

I hope Takeshi/Sonoda can win the title today to prevent Unisys from a clean sweep! Come on Tonami!

In Singapore, the proceedings can be seen on StarHub Channel 203, which I am now watching.

Another shock result when the younger and less illustrious but more motivated MD pair DEFEATED their no.1 seeded senior pair in three games. Kamura and Sonoda, seeded 8 beat no.1 compatriots Endo and Hayakawa 21-19, 14-21, 21-14.

Japan's doubles department seems to get stronger by the day!

One unique feature of the German Open is that the winners in the final get a round of applause while they walk their victory round together. Very appreciative and orderly crowd.

HKV must be kicking himself for his lapses in the deuces in G1 but credit to AB for digging in and he's one game to the good.

HKV seems unsure of himself, not able to read AB's game.
