With huge gap and Greysia's serve, it needs miracle to make a rubber. :'(

Yes, but could Saina bring out her best on court in major tournaments such as these? She has to manage pressure from fans especially since her Olympic bronze victory. Whereas the same fans probably do not have major expectations for Sindhu, especially coming out from a disappointing Commonwealth Games campaign for a player of her calibre.

When I expected more from Greysia/Nitya, they just could not bring their best game.
It was so close to a medal. Aaaak, I wanna cry! :(

misquote. He said she doesn't play with the same freedom as last year.

He speculated that it was pressure of expectations within India that has caused the inhibition of that freedom.

They wasted game 1 with 19-15 leading and the impact happened in game 2, erratic display and losing concentration, an anti-climax performance :(

Had to lol. While he is certainly not as decisive in his attack as in-form LCW or LD (up to 2012), he has a pretty penetrating attack when he forces himself to use it. He rarely does, though, often opting to risk less by just playing the rallies.

Don't agree. Saina just plain ran out of ideas against LXR. While she is more consistent than Sindhu, on her day Sindhu is definitely more dangerous. Saina is a work-horse, no great shots or natural movement, and against naturals such as Li XR or R. Inthanon it shows (provided they are performing to their potential). Respect to her for fighting as hard as she does, but given time I think Sindhu will do better as she seems to have a higher peak and more creative play.
Keep in mind Saina won her Bronze medal by default because her opponent had to give up injured, she might not have won it if that hadn't happened.

Well I agree with most of your points except the so very blunt statement

"Keep in mind Saina won her Bronze medal by default because her opponent had to give up injured, she might not have won it if that hadn't happened."
Go and see that match again SN saved so many game points and reached 18(I guess) before loosing it.moreover her opponent looked tired..I bet she would've done it in the rubber..well not going ahead on this topic imo its much said and hopefully truly said!!!

Saina Nehwal won the Olympic Bronze. Period. Hypothetical scenarios are good to contemplate but usually useless.

But in my humble opinion, Wang Xin would have won the match had she been playing her normal self. She was already injured before game points, hence that is the reason why Saina caught up some points. Saina also lost the first point of second game. But for me, the fitness of a player is included in the player's responsibilities to win the match. It is sad, but the way it is. Remember, the players who are taking care of their fitness and remain free of injury are doing extra effort like not exerting themselves too much etc.

That said, fitness was Xin's responsibility and she lost in that crucial part of playing. Hence, Saina deserved the bronze totally. No question about that.

A disastrous start for the CHN MD. Reset and start all over again in G2.

Apparently, MD continues to be CHN's Achilles' heel, unfortunately.

Han Li, WYH and WSX are all out.

If LXR again does not win the title this year, will CJ be replaced like Zhing Ning before him?

Chinese MD is just embarrassing. Why do they lift so much and can't even get a single lift themselves.

I have seen a recurring theme in almost all sports that women in China perform better than their male counterparts. They win more Olympic Golds etc.
I can approximate the Chinese Hegemony like this MD << MS < XD < WS <WD.
Do you spot a pattern :p
