I feel really strange that jamie subandhi got selected instead of beiwen zhang. Resultwise beiwen zhang is century ahead to jamie. Beiwen got injured? If not, I pity her.

way too many unforced errors from WZM. Was hoping he'd give LCW a good run, but there's no chance.

I suspect that is a residency rule as she has changed from Singapore to USA. So she might not be eligible for the competition this year.

Beiwen is not injured. Not sure why Jamie was selected.. But lucky for me - Beiwen will be playing in Dallas this weekend & I get to see her play.. :)

I'm watching a replay of the Wei Nan vs Momota match and was wondering why nobody seemed to take care of those flashes that went off every 10 seconds

Like Cheung said, she is not eligible. Can be confirmed by BWF list of players http://bwfbadminton.org/file.aspx?id=570618&dl=1

Tago was announced out before today. My guess is slower if the birdies were too fast

The biggest upset of day-1 tournament is 13th seed Kento Momota stunned by Wei Nan, strong favourite Lee CW had good start to overcome Lee Dong Keun and will take on Dieter Domke in second round next.

Watch Domke at 18-17 third game (at 1:14:01 here)

Even in the slow motion replay you can barely see his swing-miss-swing-hit shot. Wow.

Kashyap lost to domke for the second time. But this time it's tighter. So, he did not practice well?. He should come out of the winning celebrations and move on.
