It took CHN 14 years to win the TC again after the ZJH/YY era. Let see how long this time after the LD/CAI/FHF era.
I don't think there will be changes as the decision not to include veteran like Cai Yun was from LYB, unless he just want to shift the blame to someone else. Lin Dan ranking only allowed his to play as 3rd single due to lack of participation in IBF tournaments, I think both parties(Lin Dan & Chinese Badminton association) mostly over-estimated their strength. Someone mentioned about Frost may be interested in Malaysia Director's position, I think Malaysia should stick to what we have and go from there as TC outcomes had proven success w/o Angmo "Frost", the players are the one who have to step up instead of finding easy way out?
Congrats to Japan they deserve it after that long wait! It will be interesting to see where the Japan goes from here.
Disagree with you Han. It's plain to see Malaysia have been on the decline. The Thomas Cup is not representative of the decline.
A great day of entertainment. Don't change the format and don't shorten the matches by reducing the number of points. BWF, do you hear me?
I agree with Cheung. Once LCW retires, you will see how bad Malaysia really is. Take LCW out of this year's Thomas Cup team and Malaysia would have been out rounds ago. On the other hand, China is still quite a competitive team (albeit they underachieved) without Lin Dan. I'm pretty sure Chen Long will go on to win more Super Series events than Darren Liew and Chong Wei Feng combined.
A greeeat TC!!! Congrats Japan team! A truly deserved TC winner for 2014. Kento looks very promising. And I'm impressed with the pairing of GVS/TWK.
Agree with you. Chong Wei Feng and Liew Daren are already 27 by the end of this year. The rest of Malaysia's singles are still very much below their level, including Goh Soon Huat. The only bright point is Tan Wee Kiong and Goh V Shem, who unfortunately are already 25!
This Thomas Cup is Msia last chance to put a name before the fall of the empire but thanks to our national hero - Darren, so we are gonna be so proud of you
Malaysia came in ill-prepared without a strong third singles. Never expected to be in the finals. Daren already lost twice in the early rounds. goh Soon Huat didn't prove to be able to take up the challenge. In the end, Daren thrusted to play third singles despite his poor form. It shows a lack of depth in singles for Malaysian team.
