2014 INDIA Grand Prix Gold : Qualification to FINALS (21st-26th January 2014)

Wow, Subhankar Dey beat Ajay Jayaram in Game 1
And it looks like K Srikanth's power game failed against the lanky Arvind Bhat.
In Game 2, Srikanth held on by the skin of his racquet.
Now, it is Advantage Srikanth for Bhat isn't young anymore.

On paper, the Indian lad is better than the Malaysian lad.
Aditya Prakash is from Padukone's Academy but is not yet frontline material.
And he is also fresh from a ranking tournament that finished around 10 days ago (he reached the semifinals).

For this match, I'd put my money on him.
After losing Game 1, Goh Soon Huat is doing very well in Game 2.
I wonder if I stand to lose my money :D

Whoa!
K Srikanth had a really tough time getting past the experienced Arvind Bhat!
19-21, 23-21, 24-22

how about Aditya Prakash vs Goh Soon Huat?

Whew! my money is safe.

But his next match is against IZZ.
And my money will be on Iskandar.

吴顺发(马)【负】 Aditya Prakash(印度)19-21 21-14 13-21

Goh Soon Huat (MAS) has great talent with good physical build, but lack of stamina. He has got great skills but just couldn't endure the pace. Need to improve on stamina... boleh?

It's actually not that simple.

Soon Huat had serious medical issues for which he needed surgery.
And these were not issues relating to bone or muscle but related to the brain.

I'm told he is now well on the road to a total recovery.
Perhaps he is just testing the waters here by joining this tournament.

We wish him all the best :)

It's sad to see P Kashyap struggling to find his old form.
And this loss to Zulfadli Zulkiffli is not going to help him.
