Intanon's China-born Thai coach is with her on court-side.

Sun Yu is unimpressive, Intanon really played better and deserved to win albeit by 3:2. I'd much like to see Sun Yu inject more pace, both in speed of movement and shot execution. Though Intanon isn't a very fast player, she made Sun Yu looked slow in comparison. Sun Yu showed no improvement, no breakthrough yet as seen in this match.

Another thing that surprised me is that Sun Yu couldn't deal very effectively with Intanon's deceptive game as well as she could against another wily player, Tai TY, whom she beat in all their previous encounters. But I've to admit Tai TY is in excellent form lately and should be able to handle Sun Yu had they met recently.

Livestream has stopped, just as well, as I'm not keen on the 3 by 3 format but going to miss the Qiao Bin - Wang Zhengming match.

For this season, Lee CW who is supposed to play for Guandong City Century is unable to do so during the BWF suspension period until the outcome of his BWF Hearing verdict is known, as expected. The club GM Li Zhuting has expressed she is still willing to wait for him and will consider taking him back once he's allowed to compete.

She said:" If the BWF Hearing Panel decides to maintain the suspension against him, then Lee CW won't be able to play the CBSL. However, if they lift the prohibition before the Hearing,we won't rule out working with him, after all his impact is still enormous." Li Zhuting, who had worked with Lee CW in the previous season, believes that based on his personal integrity and character he would not consume the banned substances of his own accord. For badminton fans, Lee CW's inability to compete is extremely regretful. http://sports.sina.com.cn/o/2014-12-28/10207462911.shtml

To be exact, Lin Dan's club salary from BAYI is about RMB1mn(one million) a year. As BAYI is one of the four clubs that are without sponsors this time, Lin Dan is forced to be laid-off. According to CBSL regulations, the annual salary for A-list players, such as Lin Dan, Li Xuerui, Chen Long, Zhang Nan, Zhao Yunlei, must not be less than RMB500K a year.

Li Yongbo once frankly stated that the CBSL has only one good thing for the national players, that is, to increase their personal income. As far as he is concerned, the CBSL is subordinate to the CBA whose players' first duty is to the nation, not to their individual clubs. Clearly, the CBSL still has a long way to go to become a truly professional league, mainly for lack of adequate publicity and commercialization as well as the high salaries of A-list players. http://sports.qq.com/a/20141230/012105.htm

But, actually, not all the clubs are facing financial problems, a couple are surprisingly well off with rich sponsors and could even buy over other clubs' A-list players including engaging the services of foreign top players. On average, the operational expenditure of each club per season is about RMB5mn(five million) including venue rentals, travel and accommodation expenses, salaries, transfer fees, etc; indeed,it is difficult to maintain for those clubs without sponsors. Originally, even CCTV-5 Sport channel was reluctant to telecast a sport event that is spread over many months up to almost a year and with long intervals in between ties/matches. This is also the chief reason why CBSL itself could not attract a main sponsor who would want maximum exposure for its advertising campaign, similarly for some of the clubs. Briefly, this is the gist of the matter, there are articles that discussed in detail all the difficulties and problems faced by the CBSL which I didn't go into.

Some results of today's (Jan 5th) group ties:

Liaoning Yixin 3 : 2 Guangdong Century City - Sung Ji Huyn playing for Liaoning Yixin beat Liu Xin of GuangDong Century City 3:1(11:7,10:11,11:4,11:6) while her teammate Gao Huan defeated Tian Houwei 3:1(11:10,9:11,11:10,11:9). Liaoning also won the 3v3 but lost both the WD and XD to Guangdong.

Hunan Jiangwan 4 : 1 Jiangsu Wande Yule - Son Wan Ho for Hunan beat Lu Guangzu of Jiangsu 3:1(10:11,11:6,11:4,11:8) with Hunan taking the WD, 3v3 and XD but lost the WS when Zhu Conglin was overcome by Jiangsu's Wang Shixian the latter's only saving grace 1:3(6:11,2:11,11:8,7:11).

Xiamen Defang 3 : 2 Qingdao Hezhan Renzhou - Chen Long once again led Xiamen to victory over Qingdao's Qiao Bin 3:0(11:6,11:7,11:8). Yao Xue of Xiamen was beaten by Intanon Ratchanok of Qingdao 0:3(5:11,7:11,7:11). Xiamen won the WD and 3v3 whereas Qingdao took the XD.

BAYI's misfortune continued in the absence of their superstar players Lin Dan and Li Xuerui , going down 1:4 to Sichuan Jingli Zhiye.

    Zejiang Jingti 4 : 1 Guangzhou Yueyu.

Guangxi Hande 3 : 2 Guangdong (not to be mixed up with Guangdong Century City where Lee CW used to play for).

I get the above results from here http://www.yy008.com/yy008/CgisComp...&cgisEventId=7140&cgisCalendarDate=2015-01-05 , unfortunately, all in Chinese. The main schedule http://www.yy008.com/yy008/info.action?id=371.

At the same time, there happened to be a report here in Mandarin of today's matches http://sports.sina.com.cn/o/2015-01-05/22437470932.shtml
