He'd have to be utterly insane to just throw away a chance like that just to save face (not that it would anyway). There's really no good reason to doubt him. No one's taking anything away from Lin Dan. He was playing great and ahead anyway, so he's a deserving champion. We can all see that.

LCW cannot just fake an injury as he will be severely critised by the Sports Ministry and all Msians if found out. They take MRI and Xrays all that. From all his injuries over the years, it has to be backed up by the sports science doctors who report direct to the sports council, no conspiracy thingy allowed as sports science dept is independent from BAM. Any disrepancy, they will cover themselves 1st & blame the player
CBA really success and predicted it well, LCW frightened to Lin Dan. Somehow I think LCW mental block has something to do for his injury, sad bad for LCW, hope he recovers soon
The win is still sweet. 93 minutes a well deserved victory for LD. LCW injury didnt tarnish anything. Big congrats for LD. My sympathy to LCW. Time maybe running out for LCW to prove that he is not 2nd best. But that is the reality and unlucky him. Both are really role model for MS.
Apart from possessing solid technical skills and top physical condition, the fascinating thing about Chinese players is their mental aspect of their game. IMO, chinese players have very good mental strength. This never-give-up-until-the-game-ends attitude, and the strong desire to win every match is what I believe makes them champions and hard to beat.
If Lin Dan is serious about his comeback and carry on till Rio'16, what then?! Who is going to stop him from winning those titles that matter to him, including a 3rd Olympic gold?

The 2012 TC injury was 1st diagnosed by China doctors, with Xrays to show, confirmed muscle tear, need surgery. So, this time WC is in China,just wait & see.
