He pushed it too far wish to finish the game. I hope his injury is not serious. He even can't walk :(

Anyway, congratulation to LD. Still, even without playing so long, he's still on top of the game.

Omg so sorry for lee chong wei! Not only his best chance of winning first gold medal is snatched away, but his future career in badminton is in jeopardy. The fact that he's a very nice guy is so heart-wrenching. I can't imagine how Wong Mew Choo reacts seeing her husband in that state.

This is why you don't play blind aggression against this new version of LD. LCW knew what LD was up to and tried to conserve his energy and body. Unfortunately, although LCW conserved his smashes, all the smashes LCW did eventually took a toll on his body and energy level.

Pity for Chen Long he was in the same side of the draw as Lin Dan, his time will come I guess.

At least he didn't lose to Kevin Cordon this time :D

LD is creating some histories today. First to win with wildcard, ranked 286th, and best of all, win 5 WC titles. He's indeed one of the best badminton player ever.

perhaps the malaysian coach should take another look at the 9-1 points in the 3rd match.

seriously analysis it. i seriously doubt it is just a random occurrence.

Ugh. If you're going to retire and will lose the match anyway, why not just play the last rally and let Lin Dan win it? That way Lin Dan and the audience won't feel cheated out of a 'proper' victory. Oh, but I'll bet LCW was too incapacitated to even fake losing that last rally.

and this whole time i was wondering what LD's got up his sleeve to beat LCW, and now i know, endurance. it seemed that LD led a game with more shuttle exchanges thru this tournament, which is something that is different than the past. so even tho he seemed to be a little slower playing his points, he was able to last a bit longer than before which is quite amazing.

i've always admired LCW's attitude on the court, and now even more so. the burning desire to keep playing till you can absolutely not play anymore is extremely admirable!!! wish LCW a very speedy recovery and hope that the damage to the body is not severe nor permanent.

congrats to LD, you did it again :)
