This is the kind of 'training' THW needs to improve as quickly as possible; valuable experience for the young gun that should stand him in good stead in future.
It will be an upset if SIN should win the ongoing WD match. They are more defensive and made too many unforced errors, especially from Yao Lei. Not too surprising if this GPG becomes an all-Korean final. Support for the foreign teams was expectedly muted.
Tian HW seemed to have forgotten his opponent is also a lefty, so his favourite cross court smash from left to right actually goes to the opponent's forehand; in addition, LHI's forehand clear straight goes to THW's backhand. Furthermore, LHI's net play is superb, esp today. It is telling that THW was leading in both games a number of times but each time he was outsmarted by the highly experienced and crafty play of LHI who play a well-controlled game, manoeuvring his younger opponent all over the court and anticipating many of his shots often returning them with interests.
Next up is another Youth vs Experience match, even more so than the earlier THW vs LHI's even though their, HBJ - BYJ's, age difference isn't as wide.
Again two lefties for the WS, just as it was for the MS. "Veteran" Bae Yoon Ju KOR now leads 11-7 against "child prodigy" Jiao He Bing CHN. Will it end up the same as in the MS, when the veteran overcame his younger opponent with his experience.
HBJ made too many mistakes in G!, mostly unforced. Don't like some line calls ,especially on the right of HBJ in G2
I concur. Kind of leaves a bad taste...I shudder to think of what will happen tomorrow if not all matches are Korea versus Korea. Maybe it would be better if the latter scenario transpired...
