Kudos to Gu Juan for a rousing performance, came close to causing an upset win. Keep it up, well done !
Takeaway for both these players after playing so many rubber games in this even with none from top 15 participating.... go back to the drawing board and add some tactics, kill in their armoury.... They both are almost there but stll a lot seperates them from the ones in the top 10...
Really a marvellous performance by Juan Gu. What strategy went wrong for her in the game 3 when she was having a healthy 6 point lead..?? I have no idea.. Only if video of this match is uploaded, we could find it.. Both of them performed very well. If she is playing this way against Sindhu, its matter of time she come back and beat any other top ranked player.. She is still keep on improving.. I wish her(juan) all the very best..
I'm glad Gu Juan has proven she's no pushover and need not employ delaying tactics in order to win a point. What she failed again is largely her mental weakness. Well done Gu Juan and better luck next time.
At 18-all, GJ wasted two points, then at 19-20, Sindhu had the luck of the net cord. Anyway, I'd never expected GJ to come thus far and even put up such a spirited fight against the rising Indian star. Better luck next time, in another GPG, provided CHN doesn't send their top shots.
I gave up on her Loh.. She was trailing 8-14 down and who will think that she will be able to come back and win the match.. Juan is an extraordinary player.. Yesterday, Sindhu said in an interview that Juan is a tough player and she will give her best in the final. Really a tough player to watch in the future.. Top 10 is not too far to her..
On the other hand, Sindhu won unfairly by employing dirty tactics when she was worn out and needing a break to regain her breathe while Gu was waiting for her.
Gu Juan should take a leaf from Alamsyah Yunus, her will-to-win when leading comfortably by 6 points in G3 just wasn't strong enough. Still I'm heartened by her remarkable progress; admittedly, there's still quite some way to go for her to get into the top 10. An encouraging sign, nevertheless.
It was you who said Sindhu gave up, she didn't say that but instead she employed delaying tactics just to be able to win. While she took the opportunity to take in more oxygen and refresh with a drink, Gu's momentum was broken when she has to wait for Sindhu to recover.
Definitely not.. Umpire has given both the players some refreshment for one time in the second half of the rubber. That is not called as dirty tactics.. Have you seen any other matches where players used to get gap for more than 5 or 6 times in a game.. ???
Actually speaking, it was sindhu who should worry about the momentum. When she came back from 8-14 down and levelling 16 all, if a refreshment is allowed to juan gu to come back, she did not use it properly . End of discussion..
When one party only is taking the break at the crucial moment in this case, isn't it unfair? The Law says "play must be continuous" so that it is fair to both parties in order that one party is not disadvantaged.
Umpire has rights to allow the player for one or two times in the match.. Both the players used one time.. Its neutral ..
