Looks like it's definitely the end of WX career. With so many younger Chinese players snapping at her heels, it's unlikely that she'll continue after this setback.

Really unpleasant to be booed on possibly the last match of her career. Whata n unsporting crowd.

On the other hand, I'm pleased that SN got a medal. She had so much pressure from her country and it's nice to see that she finally came good in a big tournament.

I think vcrpex meant wx's injury "won't" put her out to retirement...

While Saina got very lucky, I wonder how she feel right now. Big match ended with the opponent's injury and got bronze in such way. On top of that while Saina was a bit slow starter and left so far behind, she finally almost caught up with WX.
WX possibly win the bronze if not for her injury. Damn injury, came at the wrong time, why must it happens in this determining game for bronze medal. WX has better technique and variation but Saina has better "footwork" which grant her bronze.
Congratz Saina. I believe you can win another medal in more better/convincing way 4 years later. I hope WX will have speedy recovery.

Why should they when Gold and Silver already theirs? C'mon, don't always think crooked. Nobody wants to wait another 4 years which may never come. It's every athlete's dream and there's everything to play for. They love their sport and have proper pride in their profession.

Such negative, cynical thoughts as you've expressed won't do anybody any good. Let's enjoy a great match!

Hard to say how many chances Saina has today for a win, especially if WX still handled to hold her initiative play. But this way or not, congrats to Saina with the OL Bronze!

The crowd is now owing WX an apology for booing.

Should it goes to 3 sets, WYH will win for sure for her superior fitness.

Give credits where they deserve. It was a good match, unfortunate injuries are nothing to be cheered about. Time to show some sportsmanship.
