Hard breath taking. Now, it's not only that Kindra's chance to qualify to Olympic become very tough. I'm afraid, INA will have only 1 MD in the Olympic. Wondering last quarter last year, 3 INA MDs are in top 8. BoSan will lose many points from MAS Open (last year, they finished semifinal). Even, JPN now have greater chance to send their 2 MDs to Olympic.Sigh..
1 MD (Kindra) or (perhaps) 2 other INA MDs in the Olympic Which is better? mm.. medalist is better for sure. But, even bronze seems hard for INA this Olympic
Japan has 3 MDs ranked in the top 12...similar to INA. Not to mention Fang/Lee who's almost certann to qualify but can disrupt INA or JPN's plan to have 2 pairs ranked in the top 8, if they manage to win this tourney and actually sneak into the top 8!
actually, i still think that kindra is better than bosan in big tourney.... dont forget about asian games when hendra is not well enough and kido has just got problem with his tension, they still can create magic... miracle.... but yes, i hope the best for our MDs.... yes.... think, i agree with badMania... we got a medal in Sea Games, but we lost so many points from Hongkong Open.... Bosan and Kindra should joined Hongkong Open instead of Sea Games
It's a pathetic reason really....without knowing the real implications of playing the top pairs in the SEA Games.
. Thanks BCers for telling how the day went. I returned just in time to watch the LCW-vs-TH 2nd half of Game 2. Well Done LCW. Actually if TH were to make fewer errors, LCW could be in trouble. Then I read this thread. Returning to watch, found that Kido/Hendra could be frustrated by the delaying services from CB/GZD at the 2nd half of Game 3. Well Done CB/GZD. .
i think pbsi forgot that olympic held each in 4 years... while koni forgot that with some miracle, kindra can give at least bronze.... oh yes, silver medal in Sea games is better than bronze medal in olympic. maybe, that's what koni thought... maybe...
Without a LCW and Koo/Tan in the SEA Games line-up, it will be the perfect opportunity to field the youngsters. Too bad, both PBSI and KONI wanted to secure the gold medals. Serves them right if INA can only have 1 MD pair for the London Olympics.
haha for Kindra, i can still hope some miracle... but for either bosan or alhen, even, i can not hope any miracle
Even if Bona/Ahsan can qualify, I don't think they can progress beyond QF if they remain at the current form. As for Alvent/AG, they won't qualify.
Haha..Your last two sentences. Satire detected May be Kindra should go to all tournaments rest including GPG and GP. Does it work? Another point to be noted. Starting for next individual tournament, Kindra will not be seeded. Can be forced to play against any seeded player in R1. I, myself, (like you) wish Kindra play in Olympic.
it will not work, because all the best players (WR 5-....) will also go to all tourneys so that they can ensure their spot in olympic... sigh....
Disappointed with the way Markis/Hendra lost. They had a decent lead in the rubber but somehow managed to let it out of their grasp. Those who watched it, did the INA guys choke it away or did CB/GZD step up? I remember CB/GZD having a terrible run in the latter part of 2011 but they seem to have found their game and are playing with confidence.
CHN only suffered one non-CHN v CHN defeat, but no surprise really. All those who won were expected to. The only loss, Hong/Shen was to TPE's Fang/Lee. After a year in the wilderness, the hot and cold Fang/Lee look to be blowing hot again. They can thank Koo/Tan last week for kick starting their game again.
Quite disappointed with some of the matches. Simon vs Tago, for example, did not live up to expectations. Simon already threw the towel quite early, like say 5-1 down in game 2. No doubt, Tago was superb. But Simon should look at how Taufik, Sasaki and Jorgensen tried gamely against their respective opponents. CJ vs Jorgensen was probably the best match - up to the point when Jorgensen lost steam, that is. The Dane could have won it in straight games if he didn't muff his start and go 0-7 down in game 1. Taufik produced some of his magic, which put LCW on the ropes a bit in the 2nd game. But admittedly, that is still not enough. Woon Khe Wei's ankle injury put paid to Malaysian WD hopes, they were leading and quite competitive before the mishap ...... well, never mind. So we shall have the power of the Danish/Chinese girls against the stamina and defense of the Koreans/Japanese in the final. There were 3 extremely nail biting matches. TPE aunties vs Matsuo/Naito, Hashimoto/Hirata vs the two Kims, and CPS/GLY vs the Singaporeans. Only the first two matches are of high quality. TPE aunties only got upstaged by attacking mistakes due to desperation at the end. The Japanese men, meanwhile, practically consulted their Indonesian trainer before each rally going into the 3rd game. Good tactics!!! With one pair each from JPN, KOR, CHN and TPE, this is the most open title to take home with no clear favourite. The MAS vs SIN XD match was comical, to say the least. In the 3rd game especially, it looked more like each pair was battling to lose, rather than to win. With point blank misses and racquets accidently hitting shuttles that were served short. Yup, on the displayed form neither of the two deserved to be in the semifinals. Expect the Malaysians to be slayed by the World Champions on Saturday. Maybe at under 10 pts per game. INA XD were not confidence inspiring against the young Thais. Took them too long to get going, and only found rhythm at 12-16 down in game 1. Needed to do a lot better against Ma Jin/Xu Chen. Xu Chen had gotten so good at finding gaps and spaces now, he doesn't need to rely on power alone. As HJE found out to her dismay when Xu Chen outplayed her at the net ....... As expected, a lone Saina Nehwal will face a three prong attack of the Wangs (Xin, Yihan and Shixian). Juliane Schenk tried hard to join her but got herself tied into knots by Wang Shixian. Thus Saina's only companion will be crowd support.
