LCW have disagreement with his current coach and he told the media that he wanna his old "Misbun" back. But I don't think LCW give up and play so suck. Unlike LD, when he have a disagreement like what you mentioned, he give up? WTF?!

I just rewatched G2 and G3 again. LD was very focused and after a slow start was slowly gaining on LCW, until after that line call he didn't like at 10-12.

From then on, he kept trying to hit that line like 4-5 times, all of them going way out! By then, he also accumulated a few other uncharacteristic unforced errors, allowing LCW a run of 7 points in a row! After that, it was too far for LD to catch up, and he kinda just got discouraged.

Very interesting and bizarre to watch. However, LCW and his coaches better take notes of this crack in LD's armour, if they want to win more matches in the future! :p :D

Do you still remembered when in the first set where first and second point won by Lin Dan is also an unfair line call? Watch it.

Some other posts that are amusing to me: LD didn't try hard enough, part of Olympic preparation plan, disagreement with coach etc... No offense, but if we looked at the match seriously, we know every point was hard fought, even LD had to fight very hard for a point in G1. I don't understand why this match cannot be considered one of the good if not better ones... The return of shots from both player were of high quality and very physically demanding to retrieve them. Neither both wanted to take the first move to attack in few occations resulted in long rally.

Just re-watched most of the match, and I must say, LD appeared very serious about the match - more so than most of the matches I've seen between these two. In most cases, he reacted fairly strongly to close line calls and mistakes of his own. LD cared a lot about this match - if you watched carefully, he tried his hardest to finish LCW off in Game 2, but LCW (surprisingly) had a champion's reply and raised his game considerably.

LCW then continued at a high level throughout most of Game 3, and LD was unable to keep up with it. He became discouraged near the end but still fought a bit. A few LCW errors and a dodgy line call made the Game 3 scoreline more respectable for LD - it should have ended at 20-11 or 20-12.

Congratulations to LCW! Both played well. LD seemed tired & lethargic (too much EoY celebrations ;-) ?). LD had an upper hand during the 1st & 2nd games (up to the 17th point), then he became sluggish (typical symptom after a long break). After all, LD had many triumphs last year and he deserved the break.

But imagine if this was really the case; LD made it to the KO final with not much preparation! LD will sharpen up and unleash his speed, power & accuracy for the OG 2012. I sincerely hope LCW will not be a burn out for the OG 2012 by then. Wish them both success !

    LCW BOLEH!

I agree. I am getting tired of all the excuses for LD's lost. He was simply outclassed in the end. About the dubious line calls, LCW got a lot more than LD and he got on with the game.

It is his past achievements that make people come up with all the excuses.
He is practically spoiling his name, his ego is getting the best of him.

Perhaps LYB would reduce LD's participation in tournaments from now onwards

    .
    A good point. :):):)

watching the final now,in my point of view
the 1st half of 1st set is quite good in term of quality
only a few mistake from lcw spoiled it and lin dan lead in the interval
both player also smashed in almost every rally
which is different from what some bcer describe here
    continue watching

    just finish the 1st set
lcw is attacking in every rally while lin dan is in his 1.5x mode
the quality of rally is high but lcw always end up in mistake
lcw only score 3 winner out of 14 rally played after interval
lin dan played very well to defense lcw attack and return accurately
    continue watching

What do you mean by 1.5 mode? What is the figure for maximum mode? What is LCW s mode when LD is 1.5?

So limsy, Lin Dan is still faster on the court as per your 1.5 mode and LCW slower at 1.25 mode. Obviously, if the 1.5 guy was on the defending mode then i can imagine that's not good :D
