2012 German Open GP Gold: Qualifications to Quarter-Finals matches

Congrats to Simon an Tommy
Tough opponent in SF but keep fight !!!

Linda and Rijal/Debby ?? You already exceeded expectations here

Now up to Kido/Hendra to carry Ina flag

anyone know what happened to the LYD/JJS MD match - thought they were supposed to play before Ko/Yoo?

So my prediction was wrong...Only 2 out of 5 ina players survived.

Possibly they will bundled out as well in SF

Hong Wei/Shen Ye definitely will become more potent in future with they easily dismantled 2 Ina best MD pairs :(

this is Unbelievable :eek::eek: well actualy Chen Jin shouldnt underestimate him because Wong Wing Ki is a really good player

I Just came home from playing badminton :cool: and saw the result I'm quite pleased by tommys performance, he's done it so well but also i cant understand how come Bona/Ahsan, Alven/Hendra lost so easly :mad:

I heard chen Jin is still recovery from his ankle injury. But, it is difficult to predict what chinese team is doing. They would like to help Chen Jin but also to make sure Chen long not over take Lin dan. Lin dan is still their no 1 men single in thomas cup. Now, I think the intention for china is more clear. Lin Dan will go for 7000 points and let Chen Jin through if they meet in quarter final in All England. Chen Long will also help Chen Jin through if they meet in semi final.

Surprised SJH managed to push WX to the limit. Thought she was going to be slaughtered.

Now, that's what you call a good result. Cutie #2 & skinny partner through to the SF

At least Gu Juan made it to the SF today. This is a small compensation for her inept display during the SEA Games where her teammate Fu Mingtian shocked the opposition to clinch the WS title and recently became Singapore's best sportswoman of the year.

But GJ will probably make amends if she could overcome her CHN opponent today - an enormous task indeed but nothing is impossible.

Only 2 INA shuttlers survived until semifinal, Tommy has a very uphill task to overcome LD. So hopefully Simon will through into last round ;)

2012 German Open GP Gold: Congratulations to all players making it to the Semi-Finals

My PAW Game for this tournament is really bad; Scoring only 1 correct out of 8 submitted entries at the Quarter-Finals. :o:o:o

BTW, for the PAW Game points for the Semi-Finals and Finals, Sandy has posted this;

I can never understand why BCers think so highly of CHN players, like they are not mentally weak and cannot possibly lose unless they carry an injury. All CHN players are rote trained, which means their targeted opponents are especially vulnerable, like LCW, PG, TH, LYD/JJS, MK/HS, SN, CP/JF. Any non-CHN player not in the syllabus, has a great chance of upsetting CHN players, especially when they have done special homework on their CHN opponents. Players who are rote trained ( and CHN is the only team with the resources to do that) suffer mental blocks when play don t go their way. So you see the pattern of collapse from which they cannot recover in a match. Non-CHN opponents who play with a lot of variation or improvement from previous encounters have a high chance of confounding and taming CHN players. The key confidence advantage CHN players have is their physical stamina, not mental stamina. Once their mental state is attacked and eroded, their physical edge gets frozen and paralysis set in.

Not having mental stamina?

Just received a message from Gu Juan. She said;

I don't want to, I don't want to, don't want to contest, I just want to sleep and to eat dinner.

I think Gu Juan is tired already, like you have mentioned about not having mental stamina. :D:D:D

Sure sign. LXR will take her out in under 30 min, looks like, haha. Poor girl, Gu Juan played a lot of tournaments the last two years and her training must have been intensive. Would have taken a toll on her mind and body. I believe she s at the stage of unpredictable performance. That means any outcome is possible but not title
